    I need recommendations on a good novel.

    I'm looking for a good cultivation novel.

    Here are the parameters.

    1. No Cliches. It can have Rebirth and all that, but the MC can't be a know it all.
    2. The MC can't become a bad-a** in just 2 chapters, becoming OP and unstoppable.
    3. I prefer underdogs
    4. Something with a bit of mystery.
    5. NO HAREM!!!

    Douluo Dalu II - doesn't have much in the way of mystery, but the MC is a complete underdog until he gets his 2nd martial soul, and even then he uses his first one (that deals in detection and trickery) a lot more.

    Desolate Era - no harem, no mystery, comparatively ok pacing (no instant OPness like I've seen in a lot of other similar novels)

    I think Pivot of the Sky is my best offer, he'll probably be pretty op later, but combat in general has been very limited this far and the only reason he's won his fights has been because he's hiding the fact he cultivates as both a warrior and a mage.
    Also: Really new and interesting take on cultivation and unlike most other novels where the MC repeatedly say it's good to be lowkey just to go blow as many minds as possible right after, in this he actually tries to hide his power from people.

    How about even Duoluo Dalu 1. The MC primarily relies on strategy rather than brute strength to win throughout the whole novel, and it's definitely not harem. His spirit at the beginning is the weakest and most common. He in almost all cases is fighting against people who are much stronger than him.

    If you want a MC who isnt a know it all badass, then I would recommend 'the legendary masters wife' as it fits your list.

    Swallowed star seems like a good match no harem, he is a underdog most of the time but he eventually starts getting op about 500 chapters in.
