Recently alot of novels on chinese raw sites seems to have images instead of words. Is it sometime of antitheft which is being adapted by chinese sites.
Most likely, lots of major Chinese novel sites have always have had trouble with works being easily pirated. It remains to see how effective such measures will be. Korean novels employ similar methods if I remember and that seems to have reduced pirate copy's alot, but who knows.
It's honestly kinda pointless, the pirate can just use an OCR program to bypass that if they want, it's not particularly hard. I've seen people fail horribly at stopping pirates with using images with English translations... It's just a waste of time, really... >.>
Even a slight inconvenience can stop a lot of people from trying further though. But yeah it won't help much if the major piracy sites are willing to give that bit of extra effort.
Nah you just add an ocr layer to your scrapper and you are good to go. Inconvenience for like a day max for the pirates.
Of course, just saying it can affect those that tries to pirate without running a scrapper, which honestly might affect fan translators and mtl readers more than any dedicated piracy sites, or at least would have if people couldn't just take the raws from the piracy sites.
