and what if said novels are edited versions of web novels? on a more serious note, any xianxia mc will do I swear luck is a woman(why else is it usually a goddess of luck?') and mc receives luck like fucking dirt throughout the novels, luck is most faithful waifu.
Whats the point of a pseudo-harem tag? if you see shounen and harem you know what your getting into. Ancient Strengthening Tech, Kuang Shen, WDQK, Awakening, Hail the King, Shinka no Mi (kek) White Chocolate Macadamia nut cookies. *once met a female I was interested in courting, she told me she hated white choco, promptly cut off all relations with her. If you are like her "you're courting death"
As you said edited web novels. They had enough qualities to become a novel. Typically more fleshed out in the edited version. Look at Overlord as an example.
I'LL KILL YOU well. it's not just webnovels that have this tag yet it's not. @marine1corps it's just bad practice of false advertising. the prime example. manga there are few that have it right tagged. but that's few
I know it's just that it irks me when the opening post said that MOST japanese novels have pseudo harems/romances when there are really fleshed out female characters in published novels.
Best harem stories I have found are fan made novels. Go check out some from royalroad. There's REALLY good novels there but because there is some beginners you can also find some bad ones. I actually find I any times enjoy novels there more as its usually mix between Chinese, western and Japanese style. Chinese novels are bit arrogant etc etc and Japanese usually childish.
