we used to have a lot of worthy reads before, but sadly the industry has long died now. there are a lot of hidden gems scattered and ignored tho because the current generation dont pay much attention to these kind of stuff nowadays. we used to have lightnovels and comics way back then, a sensible one and not the wattpad crap we have now.

Try "Florante at Laura" it already has a english version but you might want to try it. If you really want to find a decent one try searching for "alamat+(anything that you can think of example pineapple = piña)". you might also try filipino epics. btw. Filipino here HAHAHHA

no wonder , it is not official word but derived by language experts at UP during 1950. They are also used in UP in some debates are not allowed to use borrowed words .

There would never(at least for now) be a novel that will be in Flip that would have the same style as for CN, JP, West. It would probably have a unique disposition if it ever exists tbh

Isn't rusaku translating one? It quite decent so it inspired me to find one too and translate it. But all my searches are all for naught.

Why not just translate some decent Korean/Jap/Chinese novel? You won't find any good filipino ones.

I really liked this comic before-TXT MEN (Transliterated eXtradimentional Technologies). I only have the first volume and wanted to read the continuation but found none. It's so old, way back from 2003 :p[IMG]

I have to agree that these are way better than any dramatic too ideal romcom Filipino novels out there.

Noli Me Tangere even has bromance. Eliax x Ibarra! =)

    There other books there

Can't really call them a novel

but more like some kind of one shot story

    ABNKKBSNPLAko!?
    Paboritong libro ni Hudas

    and other "Bob Ong"'s work

You need to go deep if you want to find some WN that are worth reading . . .

I know it's pretty late for me but I at least want to clarify and give justice to Philippines -even if it's a little bit.

First off, in Philippines, most people are reading stories from Wattpad, in other words Filipino mostly put their works there hence famous stories are coming from here. And since we have this unspoken rule that Wattpad stories are not considered to be novel, in most cases they are not being called a novel when they have the right to be so called.

Regarding it's tags and genre or plot, you must first understand each country has its own favored genre and etc. among the rest. And unfortunately or not this "bad" type is the kink they love the most. And I do say some did great in making stories so please don't tell there's no good Filipino stories.

Well anyway, right now, things had changed, what this people want are R-rated fiction (Please don't ask why), whether this is a good progress I don't know all I can say is that ever since new authors in Wattpad arrive, there had been SOME stories that are good (according to my sources).

Here are some most famous authors in Wattpad Filipino that you could try translate (Please note that this is also base from THAT source XD):

(Was gonna link but wont work so just search them on wattpad)
    Jonaxx's Stories (RECOMMEND)
    YamYamniJae's Stories
    Maxinejiji's Stories
    Aly Almario's Stories (RECOMMEND)
    Marcelo Santos III's Stories (RECOMMEND)
    AegyoDayDreamer's Stories (Scifi Fiction Writer)
    Purplelyhan's Stories (I heard she's progressing)

I'll be happy to help you in translating just contact me :)
