    Atleast is there any novel which turns the tropes on it's head like Warlock of the Magus world- here the author makes fun of coiling dragon, shonen manga, etc

    Why not the girl who ate death god? One of the best japanese books ever written in my opinion, and the MH is definitely not cliche...

    One of few stories that made me feel emotions.

    Try Descent of the phoenix may suit your taste although there's some romance but the female character is still a bad ass
