Recruitment Recruiting translators for a new site!

Heya! We of RainOfSnow Translations, are looking for translators!
Recruiting Korean, Chinese and Japanese translators.
Hoping to find people who have officially studied the language, but self-learnt translators are accepted as well! Having experience isn't a necessity. There are some requirements though;

-> All interested will have to give a test. The passing score will be securing 60% accuracy and quality.
-> Have to be available on Discord/Hangouts for communication.
-> Translate at least 2 chapters in a week.
-> Be ready to stockpile chapters, that is, until the site officially launches.

PS: We've already chosen projects, but in case the translator isn't comfortable with it, we'll gladly accept a novel that they wish to translate!

60% on a test you can google and ask others the answers is kind of low, even for MTL.
p.s. chosen projects (stories) would be useful if you're recruiting.

I agree google gives about 60-80% accuracy depending on the genre too
What genres are you looking to translate?

 

We're always here to help our translators improve. I've seen many who have gotten so much better after just a few comments. Besides, experienced MTLers were also once amateurs. xD And you can't really google the tests, unless you mean google translate? Also, we have picked out some projects, but we plan on making the translators enjoy what they translate, so it's upto them )

 

We don't have any restrictions. But we do plan on focusing on romance/cultivation/fantasy.

Just wondering, how does one go about grading translation through a number system? Like, does insufficient word choice dock a few points? Or is it simply, "if I can understand 60% of what was translated, it's okay"?

 

More like; we'll compare it to the already translated version we have. Based on how many sentences were translated wrong or failed to get the meaning across, we'll deduct the score. I've already made a total of all the lines in each test, so.... finding out the percentage won't be hard.
