So as a first novel to recommend to someone I did WMW. So I wanted to ask you guys. What was the first novel you guys recommended to a noob? Edit: I also felt like asking for a reason. My reason was because our conversation was revolving around murderous snowmen and I somehow thought that fit in with wmw.
I recommended TKA at the time. Its nowhere near close to one of my favs now, but at the time I thought it was a good choice.
Invisible Dragon... They won't know, they are noobs Jk, I recommend Douluo Dalu for CN starter and Baka Test for JP, As for KR, Invisible Dragon Toyka, all of them.
Douluo Dalu was my first as well. The funny thing was that I found it by myself and had nobody recc it too me
You should never reccomend WMW as a first novel, it raises the standard so high that they will be disappointed by 99% of the rest of the novels on the site. But I always reccomend it anyway.
Ditto all of these. Especially Praise the Orc. (BUL'TAR!) No but people usually aren't a COMPLETE noob and have a favorite genre (unless maybe you're a preteen). So I usually change up my rec's based on that info. Praise the Orc is a pretty consistent rec I give no matter what though. It's a pretty well-rounded piece, got something for everyone.
The Legend of the Condor Heroes This is always my go-to recommendation. It's basically the most formative wuxia novel ever written. It's so full of good ideas that you'll see story elements borrowed from it everywhere. In fact, most Chinese writers are going to assume that you've already read it.
