To continue the metaphor, it might be more accurate to say that Reika has not yet discovered the already existing bottom layer of the Bakaragi Abyss. It's actually a really interesting scene and an example of why I love the way the characters are presented and how characterisation is handled in general in this series. It feels realistic and also quite refreshing. Reika is a very interesting character but she's far from perfect. It's her particular combination of flaws and capabilities that makes her interesting. Kaburagi has a different set of flaws and capabilities and arguably there's not much overlap in these between him and Reika. This makes the interactions between these two particularly interesting.
Latest chapter... Kinda implies she was being deliberately flippant doesn't it (Can't imagine why... Ohoho...) You're a far better person than Kaburagi deserves, Reika...

Oooh, finally it's here. I always found this line to have a strong impact in the raws, though it's hard to explain why. Actually, the whole scene with Reika totally nailing Kaburagi here is one that has a lot of impact for me. This is the scene I was hinting about previously: I think this scene is a good example of the excellent characterisation in this series. Kaburagi had only ever had eyes for Yurie for most of his life. So it's really not surprising that he unconsciously treated Wakaba-chan somewhat similarly, particularly given his other character flaws. Yet at the same time, this would not be something obvious to others, including the readers. Yet it also makes a lot of sense and explains a lot. Good job author. And good job Reika-sama!

I really, really wish the author still alive and well :'') Never found another novel like this. Bakarina is okay but tbh the joke about her harem and her denseness are overuse and I found the 3rd arc rather boring. Kenkyo, Kenjitsu, on the other hand, utilizes a lot of characters whose each action makes me think 'now, i wonder why she/he react like that' or 'i wonder if she/he will be important to future plot' (but turns out they just someone passed in Reika's live). Kinda realistic somehow. Moreover, unlike Jp webnovel, for almost 300 chapters, Kenkyo Kenjitsu rarely gives other character POV, which I really appreciate (it's boring and i dont really care). I really love all the characters here. Regarding related latest chapter, I love how Reika starts to get frontal with bakaragi. I remember very annoyed with how she acted in Kindergarten (but well, if someone who will crush my family do that i'd surely scared too...).
