- MC is scientist/doctor - reincarnated as kitchen staff - raped by lord - become 4th lady - the world is like low level xian xia world, but Martial Artists have dominant position - ML territory is poor - MC start industrial revolution - creating thermal weapons
I don't know why... but reading the third line -raped by lord made me automatically think this is a chinese novel. But heck... Anybody has the sauce?
... does all cn wn with female MC tends to end up with rape on the dish? Because as hypocritical as it sounds, I am feeling somewhat uncomfortable.
Because Japanese novels tend to write with at least some intentions of going to a global audience so controversial topics tend to be avoided unless REALLY necessary. Take for example GATE, rumors say the oriignal WN was pretty offensive to non Japanese with how it overly praised Japan while trashing others. So when it had a chance to become an LN the editors forced the author to overhaul the story and tone that aspect down ALOT. Some elements of the author's glorification of Japan and contempt for others remains but it's at a level you can mostly forgive and just calling the author out for being a bit too proud of their own country. Anyway the point is rape is a touchy subject so chances are most editiors won't let an author leave it in the story unless it's important and even than generally it has to be treated like a horiffic act. I'm not so familiar with Korea's editiing system but I imagine it's closer to Japan's than China's. Now as for China they seem to have very little concerns for that kind of censorship especially for the international community. If anything it sometimes feels like the government might be forcing authors to glorify the government more in their work. Because of this Chinese values are dominate to the extreme in many Chinese novels and.... well they clearly don't have as much of a problem with rape as we do.
