The owner of J novel club is also a member of this community.
You will have to be an asshole to pick up his novel after he directly told me to discontinue.

There are thousands of unlicensed novels to choose from.

This is the reason why I was wondering they're even translating it when there's 11 volumes(officially translated) of the said novel

 

There is already an epub version that's updated, if you search enough with time and patience...

The same thing happened with Instant Death.
People never listen.
I think comments from readers inflate their egos and make them think they are untouchable.
I know a MTL site that lost their Discord after they got reported.
It is very easy to get in trouble

 

To me, it's not so much about getting into trouble as wasting time on duplicate work. Copyright enforcers can go fuck themselves for all I care.

The bigger issue is that time wasted creating another version of something that already exists could've been spent creating something new. There might be another brilliant story that could've been brought to the English audience with the effort that is instead being wasted retranslating something unnecessarily.

It's one thing if you're already ahead and offering an opportunity to read it sooner, but there is no good reason to jump in if you're already several volumes behind.

Everyone loses: The readers lose the opportunity to read another story. The TL loses the views from the readers who have already read the other version. The DMCA lawyers lose time that they could've spent trolling innocent victims.

 

Hahaha, this highlights the hypocrisy of the fan translation community.
If all they cared about was sharing the work
As they love to preach then they would go find untranslated works to share but it is about inflating their egos.
So I do not consider myself a fan translator but a hobbyist.
I don't want to be mixed with those folks lol.
Their bully tactics work on other fan translators but it won't work on J novel club, I have seen the comments from readers when I dropped Instant Death.
You would think J novel club stole their girlfriends

Well I was just responding to someone's request to pick it up. I didnt knew that the official licensor had stoped the fan translations. I thought it was one of the good novels whose translator suddenly stopped and was never picked up.

Oh well....I wonder why I didnt check that it has 11 translated volumes.....For some reason I just assumed things.....

Well well well........After getting all the new info....I will just drop it and find something else I guess
