Now that the battle is on a steamrollin' I feel like this is quite similar to the time with Martial Union. Idiots on a bigger group try to bully with numbers, smaller group puts effort with their own talent and shocks the dumb bigger group who are too used to using numbers.

that's pretty much how he wins all his battles, at least in the mtl I've read. (up to chapter 900) Shi Feng exploits his second life knowledge (and plot armor) to gather horribly overpowered artifacts that deal masive AOE. Even as AOE attacks proliferate among the rest of the player base, his personal artifacts are regularly updated to aquire strategic advantage over the other guilds.

 

The only real issue I have with this novel is that the farther you read, the more you learn that the MC was both horribly average and apparently fatally ignorant in his past life. Like strongest sword god? Really? Dude stayed firmly in the middle of the pack. Plus he has no apparent knowledge of any of the real powers that actually control the game, just some superficial knowledge of the open powers.

Second note, in the beginning it made it seem like underworld was some big, behind-the-scenes overlord, but recently it seems like they are just a bunch of rich people pretending to be awesome when they are in fact just marginally better than first rate guilds. Is he wrecking just one division of underworld? Because it said the seven ghosts are the best underworld has and he treated them like children...

 

well, yeah, but the "hidden" forces of those powers should have at least some big news surrounding them, at least at one point in time. I mean, they would obviously fight each other in gigantic wars, which would be talked about, right?
so he could compare what he heard and what he learned in his new life, or something

though i sadly cannot refute your second point, haha

 

I hope the underground international competition is more interesting that the clan fights, it has much more potential

I also feel like the truly skilled and strong people don't really care about having a big name guild and being famous, and would rather do their own thing and fight other strong people. I hope.

 

That's just my point though, no matter how hidden these powers are, there has to be SOME information on them, so how is it that the MC has never heard of them? What was he doing in his first life?

 

wasnt he kinda intending to provoke those guys (or at least used the opportunity presented to him), so that he could train his elite further? the only thing he was surprised by was that skillblocking stuff, which whiped out zero wings advantage.
but it was mentioned that even that almost superguild-guy felt heartache over using that.

 

He was the guild aster of a third rate guild called a Shadow. How could he know what's going on among the superguilds, much less first rate guilds?

Underworld controls all the guilds surrounding the MC's city, and dozens more. They're probably lots more powerful and dangerous than we'd expect. Even the Dragon Pheonix AND ouroborous are wary and careful around Underworld.

Anybody know from lnmtl what Underworld really is?

As mentioned Shi Feng was guild master of a third rate guild. How would he find out about the goings on of the supers?

Yeah, it bothers me too that he heard NOTHING in his previous life.

Agreed, that sounds fishy...either Underworld is powerful enough to do massive information control, or there's something that can explain this.

Bingo! Yep, he's using Dragon Pheonix as a training aid! A certain person is going to have a stroke if he finds out...

yeah she probably has enough evidence to convince people to move to Zero Wing if that comes up. but it seems like she is trying to take control of Oroburous.

 

Regardless of which way she wants to move, Zero Wing's victory strengthened her position immensely.

I want him to poach Youlan, that girl is wasted in the Underworld trying to salvage Overwhelming Smile.

 

I agree! She's brilliant and would be killer as a guild exec. But alas, I haven't read she gets poached in lnmtl. If anyone has read she does change to Zero Wing, please let us know! (chapter in lnmtl would be nice, but not necessary).

Damn this is a pretty great deal for him, this woman is going to lead the Dragon Phoenix Pavillion in the future, so having her as an ally will be huge.
And with his stupid OP luck item he is bound to get something good from the chest. He would probably even wait until he upgrades the item a couple times to get even more luck
