They get a plus for a normal animation, though I don't really like the style. But the characters look nothing like the originals, except colors. Roland was barely into his twenties, while Anna was less than 18 at the start. Also, Roland has slightly wavy, long hair, while Nightingale should be much prettier than shown, and if i remember correctly, her hair is somewhat curly. And Anna should have a more delicate face.
Aside from that - armors look weird - that scene when Ryan's knights charge at Roland's militia - they look like anime knights, not real knight. And the flintlocks look too good. At that time, they only started making flintlocks, so they should look more homemade. This looked like mass-produced one from a factory.

Well, I'll watch this probably, but more for additional visualisation as to how the witches' magic works, battles, and demons.

 

If you're expecting a accurate, faithful adaptation from a Chinese anything, you're in for a bad time.

 

It's their artist style, that is what you have to deal with. This is no story made from an artist but an artist made for the story so generic art are expected.

It's just a matter in executing their said art (and everything else) to tell the story.

I disagree with everyone saying the Witches look too old. This is about 80% close to how I imagine them in my head, except for roland though, he looks rather buffed and athletic which shouldn't be the case.

All those who want RoW characters to look like typical Japanese Moe characters can fk right off. I've had with this cancerous moe shit. This is a serious anime, not a high school teenager onii sama neeeee san kimochhhhhhiiii anime.

Edit: I would actually like it more if they adapted the art style from Shingeki no Bahamut. But this resembles Claymore, Berserk, Arslan which is fine.

too much nit picking, the important factor is how they'll squeezed those 100 chapters without fucking it up, also don't expect too much accuracy since even the western tv series or movies can't do it, only Maria the Virgin Witch from Production I.G. nailed it, also Wolfsmund which is a manga.
