No what Roland needs to do is take that god punishment stone(with short range) and build a gundam out of it. But leave the cockpit made out of metal and enough distance so Anna can power it.

 

I have a few issues with the last few chapters, but before that it was perfect. I am still left confused how Timothy could make even crude guns and bullets. I believe the concept of boring was not know in the world and boring an accurate and long enough hole for a flintlock happened quite a while after even cannon boring. Second without Timothy getting his hands on one of Rolands Flintlocks I doubt he could recreate the Flintlock mechanism itself and even that was a very challenging piece to make by blacksmiths back in the day.

 

Well there are a few possibilities:

1) He may have made a few but in reality they are low quality ones that can explode. Due to limited supply of them and limited long term use, their main purpose is to boost morale. Saying "we have same weapons they do"

2) A few of the flintlocks may have been lost during the rescue campaign, they may have just loosely replicated them. But again they don't care about accuracy cause they are shooting short range nor do they care about quality (a few uses to show they work is fine).

3) The one who did this may not even be Timothy but the Church. Using the power of pure witches, Garcia's knowledge plus who knows who else's knowledge. The letter could have been a fake. A witch could probably replicate the king's seal. They may even have a king's seal from way back when they swapped the king (Assuming Timothy didn't change it)

 

they used the old forging method, basically you take a thick strip of metal, forge it around a stock and weld the joints shut.
then you remove the stock, file down the chamber, then you get a crude smoothbore barrel.
which explains why timothy's only has a 40-step range.

making the flintlock mechanism isn't hard when you consider they already have the old-style grandfather clock.

bullets are simply casted round lead pellets.

 

Kill most of the civillians and make a whole lot of irradiated area, good plan.

 

No idea what flintlock is, I'm assuming Timothy's army has those black powder one shot guns, after which they have to clean them and load.

Theres prob a witch somewhere that can clean up the mess afterwards... leaves can regenerate plants afterwards... as for the humans? They were going to be used as cannon fodders anyway....

 

flintlock is the ignition mechanism, it uses flint to ignite the black powder.

and yes, timothy is using a crude variant of a muzzle loading rifle.
they also use a much cruder black powder called "modified snow powder".

 

I remember you weren't from the US so not sure if this will resound but those things they used during the american revolution that you could only shoot when you see the whites in their eyes. You had to fill them up with gun powder through the nozzle then push it in and stuff and if enemy came close you had a dagger on the tip. Those were muzzleloading flintlock muskets.

shotgun is already way too advanced for Timmothy.

 

if timothy converts his crude flintlocks into shotguns, it'll just turn into pea shooters.
the gas leakage would only get worse, so the propelled pellets would have much less energy in them.

Not worth or moral, Roland wouldn't do it and you know it. Also not everyone would be conscripted on the pills... aaand it would take forever for that one witch to clean up the radiation. He needs people to fight the demons, what good would it do to him to destroy everything and only have 10 000 people in BT.

 

Witches are in short order, and shorter order if he nuked them. How many witches would survive that? I imagine one with the ability to clean up the mess would only be able to survive a nuke attack if they had awoken by gaining knowledge. So they would be dead as well.

 

I still can't grasp the reasoning roland has for making public hearings. history has shown that when you continuously make public hearings of criminals, sooner or later the populace gets violent, they get drunk on the power of sentencing someone in a higher position than them to death, they soon stop listening to the said crimes and instantly proclaim death whenever someone is brought to the podium. most popular example being in the bible

 

Even if they can survive these three nukes, the demons will still have it better. The world is mostly filled with demon land by now and human territory is just a corner in the map, to end the demons may take enough for a pretty long nuclear winter.
Roland maybe will make one, but will have it like a last resort when there is nothing more to do

He is doing it with the goal of doing a fast change of mentality that will take a lot more of time otherwise, but there is also a lot of punishements that were more soft than death sentence so it will also is doing it like a way of advertising the fullfilment of laws aside of social status, think that in the times also was rare to find a law that was followed and instead geting out alive of a trial if you have enough money, if they even get trough the trouble of puting up a trial in the first place

 

why do people take my words when discussing a fantasy novel too seriously and blow it out of proportion?

People, we had 2 nukes went off in japan, and it still exists .....
its not going to create nuclear winter ....
just wipe the 2 leader base and one more for the demon gate.... done !

 

if roland would ever build a nuke, it'll be used on the gate, not anywhere else.
i mean, even if the gate isn't destroyed, the intense radioactive fallout within the area would guarantee that any demons that goes through the gate would melt within a few days.
