Considering the dream is in multiple parts and if it was one long chapter the translator would break it up, then result on end wouldn't be any different. It'd still be a multi-part backstory.

The thing is it is going to be a huge part of the story. We haven't seen any real Witches conflicts. Seeing why someone would consider themselves superior to the other witches will be important. Heck this is why humans beat the witches in the first place. The witches were split now we are seeing the event repeating themselves.

 

I think the same. the second part will probably change form Iffy bacstory to the bloodfang backstory and will include and may include lots of characters introductions, relevant info or Annie fate. I think its pretty clear that the author have some big plans to the bloodfang asociation, maybe because Roland is having it way to easy with his external enemies untill now, the author made up a internal one that will bring big troubles to avoid this become a tipical chinense novel of the mc going arround kicking everyone asses with no problems, thats one of the biggest appeals of this novel (or at least I think so).

Part 1 was rather boring, but part 2 was a great chapter. We got to see just how terrible this Heidi is, and how she is basically brainwashing her followers for the sake of her own selfish ambitions. Having bad guys that are not world-ending devils makes the story far more interesting. Dont know why everyone is complaining.

Steam turbines, huh? I hope that Roland would switch to hydroelectric as their primary power source. I also like the fact that Roland is pointed in the right direction by cutting back on relying on witches so much. I was always worried about how they would keep up supplying magic for electricity, especially as the city expands.

Well he was an engineer and thermodynamics is key feature to a lot of engineering fields.
As for the astrology could be a hobby. Now with his knowledge for astronomy he could have pick that up almost anywhere. For instance he could have been a Boy Scout or maybe he was in the astronomy club in Highschool. Who knows? But it’s possible. People all through their lives gather useless knowledge all the time. Maybe he’s read stories of time travelers and ask himself how would they do that. Then taking the next step and doing a little research. Bam. Now he has the information. He may not be a master craftsman, but he may be called an apprentice or even a helper.

Now that they know the truth about god' stones they have room to do loots of investigations like making magic batteryes or new sigils, or even witch-free magic items! the possibilities are endless...

 

Your right. Using God's Stone of Retaliation as batteries is a good idea. The best part is that they have a huge mine full of it. If they can only figure out how to mine it, but still this is a great break through.
They really need to find a witch who can place use long lasting enchantments. If they could use enchantments and transfer some of the witches powers on to objects. We could start working on some serious equipment like tanks and plains.

 

I hope that Roland makes one of them super weapons from WW2~
