I don' t think the ending is that bad. But adding 2 more chaps to complete 1.5k milestone could've made a huge difference. "Good Music don't end after crescendo." yaknow.

why do people always have this shit argument? The fact that there are other endings that are worse does not make this one better. It is still disappointing with many loose ends.

Well I mean, she clearly said she wasn't hesitating anymore when she jumped in the hole, and Anna was okay with it based on the implications of the deal, and she was there at the end with Anna waiting for Roland so ambiguously implied. It just never outright stated what the relationship or deal was...

 

Maybe nightingale became the mistress?

 

It's a mystery, considering you are more likely to get an unsatisfying ending than the good one in cn or jp novels

To be honest I never expect a satisfying ending from any novel especially if it's CN.

 

I don't expect it anymore as well, but there was a time I didn't know they all are bad for the most part. It still bothers me that I've wasted time only to get some shit at the end. It's always something, if not the ending itself, it would be the final battle pulling some shit or the whole final arc. I pretty much stopped reading CN novels mostly because 1) They all have the same plot 2) They all have shit endings/final arcs
I just had some hope for this one because the start was great and different from other novels

 

Same. One Author that never fails to disappoint me is Mars Gravity, I've read all his novels and the endings have always been bad even if the start is mildly interesting.

 

Why the author so rushed the ending? It felt like he was in a hurry to finish everything. Why Nightingale's ship sailed so late (and behind the scenes)? Can't see why Nightingale has got just two lines of text in the end. What the author was thinking?
At least he wrote one chapter about Ashes.
So much untied ends, I'm so confused.

 

Go read Lord of the Mysteries. Each volumes has ending, and the ending is very touching and deep

You didn't expect that CN can have a satisfying ending. But when you were given a novel that have satisfying endings, you refused.

It's like a person said that he didn't expect that people from a certain race couldn't cook a sweet cake. but when someone could and give the said person the cake, s/he refused and said that the cooking from that race is not his/her cup of tea.

But well, just ignore my rambling. It's not your cup of tea so it's normal not to read it. I would do the same thing if someone recommended me novel that is not my cup of tea

 

Uh..... Not ironic at all, plus your opinion of a satisfying ending may not match my opinion. Your comment comes off a little rude since all I did was say the novel isn't my type, To be honest the Author isn't my type since I've read most of his novels and don't like them.
