The plot about him not seeing them as demons and treat them normaly is really great
But if all of them are like that, then what is the point (a little bit shallow I would say)

On the other hand, if he became someone like a guardian or a protecter for the witches and they want to help him in return, that is a better story

 

That's true, he does not only lacks the disposition for a love relationship, but also the place and age they are living- what can happen between him and the witches?

BTW even if improbable, I would like Nightingale to be with Prince-kun. Nightingale best grill of all.

Pretty sure the healing witch's name is Nanawa. This story has a bad case of Bob and Aerith trope, which is probably a side effect of having a Chinese guy make up European sounding name.

If Nightingale is referencing the stealth/assassin witch, her name's meaning is more accurately dusk. Unfortunately, most names tend to reference daybreak, dawn, and the sun, as dusk is not looked upon favorably, so there isn't any good analogous names other than Dysis, which is Greek for sunset.

I'm reading the raws, so when you talk about these names that the translator chose for personal reasons, I get confused.

 

That is probably a very good idea, since every time I read her name, the in sounds in my head as if it's in the bold.

 

I just realized, this novel is basically "X-Men, medieval style." Roland needs to shave himself bald, go everywhere in a wheelchair, and call himself Professor for the match to be perfect.

 

What? Roland doesn't have any psychic detecting ability.

 

Psh, just fake it using another witch to play the role. Speaking of which, it would be hilarious if he start reproducing the X-men: Witch Edition as a counter the the church's propaganda.

 

My prediction for this story: The church eventually catches wind of his actions, moves to steal his technology, condemns him for siding with the devil, turns the entire country against him and ruins all chances for him to succeed with the throne. He manages to escape with the Witch organisation, then proceeds to make his own country that doesn't discriminate against anyone. Meanwhile the church manages to replicate his technology to a certain extent and arm their own holy army with guns, then proclaim a crusade against the whole continent calling it the will of God for the sake of unification.

 

The father's death is creeping me out. Why do i feel like the church is behind all this. The dude just plain killed himself with no hesitation like he was being influenced to do so.
I have a theory that the church controled the king and forced him to start the race.

 

Maybe not. I think the king did so 'cause he have a plan to provoke chaos and force the church to move for control before they're fully ready, maybe one of his sons is the real 'heir' and is following his plans to deal with the church. Another option I have been thinking is that maybe that princess that is amassing troops maybe a witch and caused the father's death.

 

there are 2 true cheat in this story. Roland knowlegde and Anna magic.

As Engineering designer one must learn physic enough up to highscool grade physic.

anna magic enable roland to jump several tech tree.. directly.. true cheat indeed..

it's like play sid meier Civilization.. with godmode enabled.

but as I said roland has developed Lee Enfield and Revolver. He has breaktrough in Nitrocellulose production.. In front of modern firepower all that church technology will became obsolete. And I doubt curch could mass product the tech that they steal aside from simple napoleonic cannon and flintlock vs Roland WW1 if not WW2 grade altillery and Automatic Kalashnikov 47

i think the king is fake person that camouflaged by witch.. that explain why Tilly dissapear or run away before the king issued games of throne.

king didn't do anything aside from became eyesore in church eye..

 

I think the witches, if used carefully are the true cheats, not just anna.

Anna seemed more like a cheat because her ability ( fire ) is in perfect harmony with Roland's knowledge.

If you look in another perspective, the ability to heal and nightingale's invisibility seems much more useful if RTW is a battle novel. But because it's a casual novel, Anna's ability shines the best amongst the 3 because of Roland's knowledge.

Everytime mc acts in front of Anna I can see (+2) to the heart meter.

 

Really liked Anna and Nightingale. Nana has not been so impressionable this far, but i'm willing to wait for a good read.
