I agree no harem but love triangles are ok. And I think Roland actually never saw her as a mere tool, pretty sure he feels some guilt regarding her circumstances so he distanced himself. he probably will start to behave differently now that Nigthingale told him the 'white mountain' part and death by magical period is no longer apparent. He's not dense he just didn't want their relationship to go further yet.

I wouldn't call her stereotype yet. Her attitude, behaviour and power position are all pretty realistic. She's basically going to be a magic terrorist leader I think, time to invent god stone-bullets I guess...
Also their search for the hell gates made me remember the demon well in the orc campaign from warcraft 3, let's hope they don't turn into demonic beings.

 

Maybe it is just me, but the inconsistency of names and naming format, as well as ranks without any promotion/demotion is annoying.

I really do wish more translator would keep a list of names, locations, etc. so that they can keep it consistent. The only exception is if it is the fault of the author.

 

Considering this is a chinese novel its really well written..

 

I hope we get to see the real menace with the next chapter. Could it be the demons are not attacking the humans but merely fleeing south?

 

I say that Holy Mountain is a base of the church, and all the info that the witch as gather from the church was a trap to lure them. I won't be surprise if the real city was on the ground, specifically the church of Hermes in the holy city, and they use light to create the mirage of a floating city. It's probably why they wanted to build that church in new Holy City on top of that mountain.

Heh, they spent so much time running away from the church in order to loop around and walk right into the church.

Pretty unlikely, i'd go with the theory that the holy mountain in question is actually a metaphor like lightning interpreted it. Plus those savages clearly weren't human. The whole situation reminds me more and more of GoT ^^ Infighting kingdoms and a omnious threat from the north.

 

I second this notion. It gave me a GoT feeling this one and I am placing my bet on whoever is residing will be a third party other than the church or witches.

 

Whew..I really can't wait for the next chapters >.<
