I think some people are MTLing the raws. Supposedly, he was only going to divorce her for a year, so that he can make Rashta's child an official heir because only the Queen's children are official. He thinks that Navier is infertile because of the cookies they ate as children which is why they haven't produced any children over the years.

Warning, ranting alert I just read the latest chapter and tbh RASHTA IS FARRRR MORE BETTER THAN THE STUPID EMPEROR. The one who hurted the empress the most is the emperor. For starters, the empress and rashta never really hated each other personally. The empress is open to the idea of concubine, not just because concubines are legal in their kingdom but its also because she and the emperor doesnt love each other romantically, thus she is always prepared for some other woman coming to their marriage. As for rashta, all she wanted was to have a secure wealthy life it didnt matter wht her methods are but its not specifically to hurt the empress. Rastha's existance became hurtful to the empress is only because the emperor's dumbness. He didn't treat rashta as a concubine tht she should be, meaning she gets too much special treatments and her bad manners are too much tolarated. Rashta's place as a concubine should have not hurt the navier at all if only souveschu tell rashta to behave and know her place is only as a concubine. The one who gave rashta the power to hurt the empress is the emperor and the emperor dumb ass is always like "aRe yOU jEaLOuS?" Everytime the empress warns him about rashta. He disrespect and humiliates the empress far too much and everytime the empress tries to give him the same attitude he would get angry while our strong female lead held her head high despite all the bad treatments she didnt deserve. For rashta, even though she's a two-faced snake, as navier said she is a smart woman and its better than the idiotic emperor. I gave her my respect when she said she can only trust herself to protect her and her baby, not even the emperor despite him being dumbly in love with her. And I kinda felt bad for her past being not just enslaved but also almost driven to madness when her master took her baby and lied about her baby being dead. Even untill now she's still controlled by her previous master, kinda pity her for tht tbh. Sorry for the long thread, just wanna take this opinion off my chest✌
