Reporting no active translator

If a novel has not been translating recently or they have taken down their site, how do I get novel updates to change they protection on the translator?

 

Novel Updates is just a list, and it doesn't 'protect' the translations. The 2 months rule is what the community came up with.
You can post a request so that other translators can pick it up, as it implies that the current TL is inactive/dropped it.

 

Protection? You mean their status of Active Translator?

First, check the NU policy and see if the translator is still considered an active translator.

If they are still an active translator, but made an announcement that they dropped the novel, PM a mod with a link to the post in which they said they dropped it, and with a link of the chapter that you translated. They'll add it for you.

If they are no longer an active translator because the time passed, you don't need to do anything.

There is no 2 months rule.

1 month is what says you're still an active translator.

3 months is what you need to wait until you can make a novel pickup request.

 

What do you mean protection? If a translator has stopped translating then put up a pickup request and hope another picks it up. The 3 month rule only applies to the NU forum and isn't an actual rule towards the community of translators even if the novel is dropped for a month a TL can legit pick it up if they want. Some even do it within a week or while another TL is on the project still.

If you mean the site is taken down, then just report it to the mods and they'll hide the dead links from everyone, which is that eye that appears sometimes above the chapter links on a novels page I think. The funnel is group filtering also

 

So I translated bringing the supermarket to the apocalypse but I haven't gotten posted on nu yet. The translator fakefruit no longer has a site, of which there are threads talking about five months ago. I was wondering if it was a Qidian thing or if fakef still had active translator status.

If I need to pm a mod, can you tell me some kind mods that I should pm in the future?

He has not posted in eight months and his site is inaccessible. There are threads talking about how to access his inaccessible posts and asking for a translator to pick it up. It is not random.

you can translate any non licensed series~
if the one who hold right ask you to stop or collaborate it's up to you~
how you know it licensed or not? someone will tell ya later if they notice your translation~

You need to add the release to NU on the first release. Bots only add automatically after the first one.

Seems like the problem was already solved though.

That's why I though maybe translators couldn't translate Qidian novels
