Forgotten Title Requesting help to find a novel

I'm looking for a novel that I read a while back, began the first few chapters then stopped for some reason . Anyway, it's about a guy who transmigrates into the body of a poor prince in the imperial palace, and the first person he sees is his little brother (from the world he transmigrates into). He decides to help that brother to become the emperor, and after a bunch of killing and plotting he manages to do it. But the brother ends up betraying him and he gets tortured. He ends up floating in a river (not sure how), but he's pretty much left for dead. He ends up being miraculously saved by a "villager" who takes him to this super poor town, and where he is offered a place to stay. The MC sees how poor they are and gets worried that he won't have enough food and money for himself, so he starts doing random stuff like selling bread(?) and helping the people around town. Also the town leader is really handsome, but is the poorest person there because he's always giving his stuff away. I remember that everybody liked to say how frail and weak the MC looked, and they were always giving him food because they thought he was too skinny. Oh, and the village ended up being this kind of weird, secret place where everyone was actually really powerful cultivators, pretty much all I can recall of the plot.

 

Seems like an interesting read.

So was Yaoi genre in the novel...um, hardcore? Or it focused more on plot?

It was a pretty standard slice of life to me, there’s hardly any romance unless you’re deliberately looking for it, don’t know how that might change with more chapters though
