My google app got updated and then i realize that Now on Tap (the feature that appeared when i long press my home screen) is updated into a f*ckery named Google Assistant. Now, while its indeed a good update and I feel like having my own Karen like Tom Holland in Spiderman. I realize they get rid What on My Screen feature which helps me scan what on my screen (like OCR) and allow me to translate text i don't understand. So, can i google assistant do what Now on Tap do? because i didn't see translate option Or is there any other app that allows me to instant translate what on my screen in just a single press like Now on Tap?
clear Google data from Apps in Settings will revert it to stock...or u could disable it....then edit Play Store settings for manual update and enable Google for tje old version
Just use what's on my screen (there's a grey textbox). If you don't see it, ask the assistant "what's on my screen" and it'll tell you how
You can bring back now on tap if you want. Just go to settings, then language and input. Choose US virgin islands.
mine worked...for helping u i redid the steps and it still showed the screenshot of the screen where u can select words for translation and such
the first thing i did and there is no such option. There only my native languange and for english is just US, UK, India, and suhc. no virginia option like what the other said
The reason why I never update my anything unless I know exactly what I'm getting from updating, and am willing to put up with any and all downsides it will bring. Meaning that most of my stuff almost never gets updated. And what do you know, it's kept me from suffering on several documented occasions. Like that time when a CCleaner update included malware, or when a particular version of Adobe Acrobat spawned multiple extra processes that continued running even after closing the application. Still using firefox 26 as my primary browser, and iOS 8.1 on my phone, and still not willing to subject myself to the bloat, hideousness, or feature removal that would result from changing either of those.
Okay, finally works by clearing all google now feed and data. turn out the option is hidden deep on my phone. Thanks you all. especially @tahzib1451 .
