The alcohol in these time periods....water with alcohol?
It would cost more to flavor the alcohol, and to research brewing better alcohol so it would def be a luxury item.
    naturally occurring alcohol? that's a king's ransom

    Here's what I found off a wine website's article
"Ancient drinkers weren't interested in discussing the finer nuances of vintage and terroir; they instead valued wine's function and social role. Those functions varied across time and place, but were often linked to helping drinkers avoid unsafe drinking water. Chocked full of additives, ancient wine provided valuable nutrients and was used to sanitize water well past the Middle Ages. In places and times marked by disease, with rainwater fanning into greasy plumes across city streets before depositing a muck of human waste and manure into wells, wine made with pine sap and marble dust didn't seem so bad." Volume is conserved tho so I will have to learn size changing magic first. Whereas a house can have a low volume but a massive TSA.

Hmm, precious metals are of course pretty valuable, especially depending on the country, but for Aureum, the country you guys are currently in, a bar of gold would likely not be an amazing amount due to it being a large trading city but could definitely buy some slaves, I guess? Depends on how large the bar of gold is.

Alcohol is of course, valuable, especially in the capital of Aureum as a lot of sailors are passing by, so I'd say a few barrels of meh quality alcohol is worth a gold bar, a few bottles of very fine alcohol may be worth it's weight in gold though~
    Depends, I suppose~?

How many gold bars? For an average sentient talking tree?

Hmm, is the talking tree a servant? Can it use magic and/or Mystery? If yes, then likely a lot by the military assuming it can be moved and has strong defensive capabilities.

Just a normal talking tree though would probably only be a a golden bar at most, and only due to it being potentially unique and interesting for collectors.
