So I'm on about chapter 147 and the mc just got like another 15 sworn brothers/sisters. Is the whole sworn brother thing a large part of the story? I tend to dislike teamwork or stuff like that in stories. Thanks in advance.

Yes and no, although he got many but MC works much alone, in a sense those brothers and sisters compensate for the lack of romance/harem that usually exist in CN novels or maybe author just didn't want to make him a loner so that is why there is so many of them :hmm:

Let me tell you about the sworn brothers in Sage Monarch, the author has a formula and it goes something like this.
    • Protagonist meets some people and makes them his sworn brothers.
    • Takes them on an adventure together, pretty much has to carry them the whole way.
    • Gets back everyone is chill, protagonist goes off on his own again.
    • 10 to 20 chapters later protagonist has had multiple adventures, sworn brothers mentioned in passing once or twice.
    • protagonist meets new stronger people, makes them new sworn brothers.
    • cycle repeats.

Author wants to make it something "important" but its not really, they just show up to be forgotten and reduce "my brother and sisters" at some point
