For a long time, i have this question. - why do people hate SAO? I simply don't understand why. Plz enlighten me.
it's a combination of being very popular/well known and having many things that are easy to nitpick. In terms of actual quality, SAO is pretty average.
For me the first couple of episodes were great, and i mean really great. I had, based on the couple of episodes i watched, hoped for it to become something akin to Log Horizon. But for some inexplicable reason, the series just went from good to bad when the romance began in full. I am not sure why i felt that, cause its been so long, but i do remember wishing they had explored the topic of being trapped in a video game way more and focused on that theme for the rest of the series, but they didn't. I don't hate SAO, but i don't like it either, it just didn't explore the topics i wish it could have. And as a result, imo it fell short
I like it. as long as the harem isn't there. I'm fine with kirito and asuna PDA-ing in front of me but I dont need a loli, busty imo and tsundere. i haven't read in a while tho
Cringe, or mostly... lost potential. In a few episodes, it went from a cool world with people dying and stuff to wet dream of a loner: - get op, get girl, get daughter(?!). While it's often the basis for many stories, it irritated me how blatantly sao did that. Other than that... damn harem, from which even MC's cousin/sister won't be spared. Things after aincrad seem kinda forced. Alicization: Spoiler Cardinal's death was just retarded Then again, even though i would wish 100 eps of harem-free Aincrad instead of everything that came after it, sao's still enjoyable to me.
Not sure about others but to me, first season was pretty good. And then it became less and less interesting afterwards. And it also bugged me a little that the title still says SAO even though the game itself is over and they played other games (I know that the sao incident is still relevant to the story but still....) so yeah, I just hope they had explored the "trapped in a game" theme a little more. Or maybe it's just me..... Well whatever
part of it is the disproportional popularity for something that's a dime a dozen. Then there's all the rapey themes, the ridiculously absurd and crappy pile of shit-flavored milquetoast that is the protaganist and the CN level circlejerk for said protag. All of the fanpeople over the years praising it as the best masterful shit since sliced bread certainly didnt help. Personally, if you cut the rape and cut the pile of shit protag while making it so that all the female characters were made properly strong and able while being the focus then a lot more people would probably like it. Just look at the GGO spinoff. It got a more positive reception from those outside the SAO fandom. TL;DR: SAO is like some half-baked, rape fetish-y wet dream dreamed up by a lonely pervert when he sleeps in class.
I still like to watch it to pass time. Only watch SAO when you wanna turn off your brain and not think too much. Because there's some plot holes and stuff that doesnt make sense if you think hard about it. Most people might agree that the start of the anime is quite good until it turns into the typical harem anime where the protagonist is OP most of the time and of course, get all the girlz
I watched it 2 times and still I am want watch it again. If depend by people taste, some people don't like that kind of anime like sao. Have you seen that there is a game SAO, have anybody played it?
There's a few of them. I saw some stuff about the PS Vita's translation, but on the plus side, that PSP game has a patch! I'm a big fan of game patches.
Because instead of showing battles trough the floors, it uses time skips to focus on things like moe and cooking.
