I hope it's good. The actress is a top notch one. It really all depends on the director.

 

Its only bad or worse when adapted by foreign countries. Initial d was fun. Haven't watched Rurouni Kenshin yet though.

I'm disappointed they didn't even try to get asian main cast instead gave leading roles to white actors and made all support cast asian really don't really understand that ideologi. I'm fine with scarlet johansson but I think whoever chose the actors is a dick.

 

good, they said adapted, in the original the guy is a 20 yo or so japanese, he got stronger by death battles,
in the film, 30 yo guy, trained by some chick...

 

the only ones that have liked the movies are the ones that haven't read the book series. not only do they screw up the entirety of what the first book was about the f*cking left out the biggest part of the entire franchise. The prophecy. oh and the tossed Cronus being revived into the 2nd movie when he doesn't get revived until the 4th book and left out a cool fight scene against Ares. i hate it more then the Eragon live adaptation and that movie was horrible. it was so bad that the author refused to allow the second book Eldest to be made into a movie

 

dont forget the change the weapon from an battle-axe to a sword despite the series explaining why it was a horrible idea to use the sword

 

CGI is really needed for this live action adaptation since we have the three-legged robot/personal tank, cyborg implants (although practical effects like from terminator 2 is better), and the most important part, tron-esque AI hacking sequences.

I think scarlett johnson is fine.

 

Obviously you haven't seen her in the movie "Lucy". So like I said, for her to look good in an action movie nowadays, she require a lot of CGI. The difference between her role in Lucy vs her role as Natasha in the Avengers, is the amount of CGI work they used on her. Sure she looks great with CGI, but when the budget doesn't allow it, don't have too great expectation. She's old now, her body isn't as firm as it used to be. She is ten years too old to play Kusanagi. I have nothing against older woman, but in this case the difference is like when casting a 30 years old actress to play a teenager.
