Discussion (Scenario Fun - Yuri Edition!) Pick the wife you're worthy of

I finally have the motivation to make another of these~! As always, you can play this game by following the rules or by going your own way (although there are limitations to your actions - I'll tell you if you can't do something).
You can also ask me for more information and so forth, and I'll give you what you can get your hands on in this scenario.

Summary
Having been reborn into a yuri world, you now have to pick your wife, on whom you'll depend to look after you and provide for you for the rest of your life! Actually, the choice isn't really yours - but you might be able to sway the decision a little with your preference, so long as you choose realistically.

You'll have to be honest about your personality, your desires, and what you have to offer in order to get what you want!

To play it straight, name your choice and make a case for why you would be a good wife to her.
I'll reveal the results of picking each candidate later on~!


Background
You have died and been reborn in a fantasy world!

In your country, there are only two races who are considered true citizens of the empire – an Amazon-like race and a race of Kemonomimi (who I’m going to call Weapons race for ease). Everyone else is third-rate.
The Amazons are the ones who actually own and run the country, and are an all-female race of tall, muscled, extremely OP warriors and mages. They’ve been conquering their way across the continent for centuries and their entire society is dedicated to war.
The Weapons race are small, weak women with animal features who are designed for breeding: they have the ability to get pregnant from any race and sex, are extremely fertile, and have easy births. They also have the ability to transform into weapons with various powers and, when someone they love romantically uses them, they’ll unlock a special form and power up.
The Amazons and Weapons race are in a symbiotic relationship, as the Amazons are unable to reproduce without them.

In this society, Amazons and Weapons only marry each other. A Weapon will only marry one Amazon in her lifetime; an Amazon will marry several Weapons at the same time, as long as she has the ability to.

Marriages are arranged by the grace of the queen. Amazons who perform exceptionally well in battle are rewarded by being sent home, given a wife (or wives, if there’s a surplus of Weapons and they did very, very well), and given a year off.
Weapons are automatically married off after they turn eighteen, and their partner is chosen by the queen herself – although they have the chance to sway her in one direction or the other with their vote, if they play their cards right.

The marriage/award giving happens once a year.

(Amazons train for battle at school until they turn eighteen and are conscripted into the army from 18-30. During this time, they’re given a house and money – the size and amount being dependent on their ability and/or nobility.
If Amazons aren’t awarded, they spend 9 months at a time away on duty and only return for 3.
After their time in the army is done, they keep the last house they were awarded, but have to work like everyone else to support their family.

Under the rule of the current queen, mages are severely passed over because of her biases. You have to be exceptionally exceptional to be awarded even once as a mage.)


About Your Choice
You have been reborn in this world as a Weapon. You’ve been lovingly raised at home by your parents to be an attentive and endearing wife and, now that you’re eighteen, you’re going to be married off.
As part of the process, a list of your potential partners is provided to your parents, with some information written by their seniors, and your parents will pick one that they’d prefer you to marry.
Your parents are very doting, so they’re giving you complete control over who to pick.

If the queen feels you’re a good match, she’ll be merciful and pair you together. If you try for someone you’re “unworthy” of, you’ll be disregarded. Furthermore, if you pick someone who’s picked by a lot of other Weapons, you’ll only be paired with her if you’re the best of them all.

Amazons typically favour beautiful, submissive, attentive and sexy Weapons. Your skill in the bedroom matters a great deal.

The queen will also try to give powerful Weapons to powerful Amazons to produce strong children, and to provide Amazons with weapon types they can actually use (that’s very low on the list of priorities, though). Nobles are typically matched with nobles.

You are a Commoner Weapon whose animal type is a popular but common species. Your weapon type is a basic sword, your power is neither exceptional nor exceptionally bad, and you’re a beauty but not someone who will stand out among a crowd of beauties.

You’re going to have to rely a lot on your personality and talent.


Candidates
You have the information that was sent to you, but you also know about some of the candidates from gossip or seeing them from afar. I’ll combine both types.

Spoiler: Candidates

Penelope: 21, Commoner, warrior. Well-known for her friendly and outgoing personality, as well as her strong leadership skills and martial prowess. She enjoys tennis, socialising, and encouraging her fellow Amazons rather than fighting with them. Although this is her first awarding, she’s known to a lot of young Weapons through their Amazon sisters, and she’s a heartthrob. She also has a lot of qualities that the queen favours.

Blanche: 23, Noble, warrior. She’s strong and ruthless on the battlefield, and an excellent leader when times get tough. She comes from a long line of very successful warriors; however, she’s unbearably indifferent to everything in life and never smiles. She single-handedly clears out half the enemy when she enters a battlefield, and no one knows why she hasn’t been awarded before – but this will be her first time.

Dorothy: 21, Noble, mage. Although her family has a long line of decorated warriors, Dorothy was born as a runt due to complications in her birth. She’s small and weak – actually smaller than your average Weapon – and has neither curves nor a lot of chest. Her magic is powerful but not for those with a weak stomach: she’s known as the Death Mage and can control dead material and use organs to cast spells. In addition, she dresses plainly and avoids going out in public. This is her first awarding.

Charis: 27, Commoner, mage. According to her file, she’s known as the Singing Witch because she sings loudly to boost morale. Her magic is weak, but she flies on her staff to bomb from above and attack behind enemy lines. She’s not known to you outside of the file and what your sisters can tell you – it seems that her only hobby is “relaxing”. This is her first awarding.

Elisha: 28, Noble, warrior. She’s practically a celebrity, and she’s still on the rise. She and her wife, a powerful shield Weapon powered up by love, make an unstoppable team: her wife turns their enemies to stone, and Elisha sweeps them away. She’s strong, loves to battle and, from your sisters’ descriptions, it seems like she’s some sort of hero to the fighters stuck on the field – she’s currently being awarded for protecting injured allies all by herself. This is her second awarding; her first wife is a very powerful Commoner.

Valerie: 19, Commoner, mage. Your information is limited, but she seems to be a genius mage who was awarded only the second time she ever entered battle. She was top of her class and is apparently able to combine spells in a way that no mage has ever done before, wiping out an entire battlefield by herself in seconds. Her superiors have written that she acts sadistic in battle. This is her first time being awarded.

Akiri: 19, Commoner, warrior. Her superior didn’t even write anything for her. All the file says is that she’s being awarded for surviving a trap and delivering important information.

Mirai: 19, Commoner, warrior. Very little is said about her, just that she’s “quiet and dedicated” and is obsessed with dragons. The file vaguely informs you that she’s being awarded for services to the country.

 

I can imagination how hot and sexy they were.

 

I don't want to be a weapon! That sounds so boring to be raised to be obediently married off! What's with this setting?! But being a kenonomimi I will take!

I skipped all the mages when looking at the candidates -- since I'm a sword, it doesn't feel like a good balance. It's kind of important to me to strike a good balance in a relationship/partnership, and I kind of hate the feeling of being useless. I am kind of ambition in many senses, and I want to be good at what I do!

Popular warriors are automatically disqualified. I don't want to deal with them.

I think I will go with Mirai because dragons .

Although I think I would also be fine with Blanche or Akiri.

 

To be honest, Weapons are usually fragile little maidens, so they're not often taken into battle unless they can really score a prize for their wives. Mages are the least likely to bring their wives; even if they get a staff Weapon, the powers they receive from her aren't worth the danger of making their wife a target.

Do you have a case to make for why the queen should pair you with your choice?

 

What exactly is my “power” and “talent”?

I would honestly try to sell myself the best way I could present a reasonable argument.

If it is me, I would have bailed out of the marriage, but if I have to choose I will choose Dorothy, because I have a thing for a small and weak. I want to protect them and make them happy.

 

You don't know the full extent of it until you fall in love - some people are nothing on their own, but destroys battlefields with a lover.
Your power will also depend on your personality, so I was trying to keep it generic. Something like "throws a blade of fire" or that sort.

Your talent depends on the real you. You have eighteen years to learn something if you want, but the real challenge is evaluating yourself. Like, can you honestly be submissive? Seductive? Or is there something that makes you a good wife for them specifically?

No way to bail out - marriage is mandatory. You may need to make a case for why you should be with Dorothy, though.

I also like Blanche, she seem lonely, ruthless and strongest. Low key. If only there were two vote, I will choose her too

 

Blanche is a noble, so you'll need to make a really strong case to convince the queen - if it's even possible.

Is there any reason you feel that you'd be fitting for Valerie?

Well~! Sadly, your marriage is a matter of law. There's no such thing as a Weapon who doesn't marry when she's 18. The queen herself is presiding over your matchmaking and wedding ceremony.

 

Alright!

So I would make an appeal to my creativity and spontaneity. I am a bit strange, and I thrive best when improvising on the fly. Unexpected things happen when @lychee is in the mix, and sometimes unimaginable ridiculous outcomes can be produced if you give me a little faith. I'm not afraid of challenging norms, and passion for the interesting is my strong suit.

I would be poorly suited for a conventional army/warfare where things are organized, regimented, and orderly. This kind of rigid environment would stifle my ability to reach my full potential. I would not be well-suited for a partner who is 100% only focused on battle/magic.

I don't believe I have many qualities to offer to an excellent mage. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about magic, and I don't think I would complement a mage who's primary solution to everything is magic.

On the other hand, Mirai sounds like somebody who does not pursue a conventional army path. If she spends her time chasing dragons or doing rogue things, this is an ideal environment for me to blossom to my full potential. After all, you never know — if you were to stick me in a room with a dragon, who knows might happen? There might be unpredictable results. I'm the kind of person you want to gamble on, even if my weapon skills aren't remarkable.

Aside from this, I think my personality complement's Mirai. I am also very dedicated to abstract values. Although I'm not as quiet as her (presumably), I think it's better to complement people. I am generally an introvert and don't require much social attention, although I will always seek interesting things.

EDIT: Also I hate the idea of being left behind and kept in a room while my wife goes off to do things. Take me along! I'm not afraid of danger!

To tell you a secret, it's impossible to get Dorothy without making a strong case for her~!

 

Blanche sounds like an interesting person, so I’d choose her. There’d have to be a reason why she’s only being rewarded now even though she’s made extensive contributions it would seem. I’d try to sound out why the queen is only rewarding her now, and I’d try to play my cards that way. It might be that because she is so ruthless on the battle and indifferent towards life, she may be overly strict towards not only her comrades but also herself. Too much rigidity, especially on a battlefield, in my opinion, may not be the best at times. Also, because she’s so strong, not having anything to tie her down or keep her moral high might be an issue, since if she’s so indifferent, why is she even fighting for the queen anyways? I would also try to use the fact that my status as a commoner may bring a new perspective on life for her, and might make her a better guardian for the country. Honestly, I just like the idea of showing a cool beauty the joys of life~

 

Charis would be my first pick if I was looking for someone I could possibly get along with romantically, but she seems disinterested as well so romance isn't necessary either. Plus she is on the older side, so I won't have to worry too long about her going to war and possibly never coming back. Plus we both like music and relaxing.

The next I'd consider is Elisha, because she is older and already has a wife. I have no intention to get in the way of their relationship I can secretly propose just a marriage in name, and if they really don't want me at their home then I can live elsewhere. Otherwise I can become like, a nanny or something. If they're gonna be having lots of babies someone needs to watch them, right? I personally do not feel the need to make babies to be happy.

Lastly I'd choose Mirai, if only because she likes dragons. Quiet and dedicated is also a plus, I feel like we could get along. If not as lovers then friends. Her age does worry me though, there is a lot of war ahead for her.

As for my appeal... Oof, I do not have many...

I am a loyal companion, whether my wife is strong or weak, accomplished or nameless, I will never stray into infidelity. At the same time, I am also open minded enough to allow them other lovers for the sake of strengthening the numbers of our great people, and I will never ask for their affection in return. I have experience raising siblings so I have knowledge of raising children, and if it is asked of me I will fulfill my wifely duties to the best of my abilities. If my skill is lacking, then I can definitely learn; I will look forward to experiencing my wife's leadership skills personally. As for personal hobbies, I enjoy reading lore and creative arts. I keep communal areas clean and organised, and wish to uphold my wife's fine reputation. I can cook and clean, and anything else my wife wishes I am willing to learn.

I can't say too much about her without spoiling it~! However, Blanche is the hardest candidate to win. She's a huge catch, even with her personality defects.
