Is this novel going down the harem road or at least borderline harem? Cause i think it is. Hot and strong oni demi human like check. Holy female beast: phoenix check.
I am afraid doing it with a bird is not exactly a harem, but one very different route.... I dunno, I think it is unclear about what state the romance will be by the translated chapters so far
Im just makung a guess because all of the harem that I had seen the MC always have a female hold/divine beast
Although it is a possible scenario in general, it is not guaranteed that it will happen. Sometimes nothing happens wi the beast companion. And in this novel mc so far established himself as a loner. I honestly don't expect to see companions with him. At the very least, they would not stay together for prolonged periods of time. Of course it is possible that the author will go there as well. Imo it is too early to tell. And sometimes authors do some crazy stuff. If you actually wanna know what will happen, there is the spoiler thread. Ask there

hmm.. that is an interesting thought... I wonder if spirits can survive/chose to become familiars. In recent chapters, he had to chase after them to capture immediately... So if they die, they would have to die in front of him. Maybe they will become a sort of frenemies and will have to chose a side eventually or something like that
