I can't remember the name of the story or where I read it from.

At the start, the MC wakes up in the body of a sect leader from a declining sect. The previous owner fell into Qi deviation as an attempt to suicide. The MC has a system for sect leaders, so he gets stronger the more powerful his sect is. He goes on a secret trip to obtain points, meets two orc brothers whom he recruits for his sect, and buys this experience orb thing from his system store.

The experience orb lets the people from his sect use the exp they have accumulated to increase their cultivation. The orb also lets the MC know the person's loyalty towards the sect and himself. The in-world explanation his sect's grandpa elder deduced was that it takes the harmful killing aura/resentment and somehow converts it into usable energy. One of the last things I remember was them discussing allowing the public to use it, for a fee. The orb had allowed the old grandpa to raise his cultivation so much he skipped stages and rejuvenate, so he could handle most of the surrounding powers.

    Thanks for the help!
