    That is c).

    In the context of the question, it appears to imply that this is not an ordered function. a) could be b), swapped, and b) could be z), swapped. There is no definitive order within the set.

    There are 2 possible states for 3 options.
    [1][2][3] where [1] can be * or +, [2] can be * or +, and [3] can be * or +.
    This means that there are 8 possible combinations. For the first option, there are two options on the second. For the second option, there are 2 options on the third. This means that for every option on the first slot, there are 4 outcomes total. Naturally, this is 2*2*2. This can be proven visually, mathematically, and consistently. Below is a simple demonstration of these outcomes for 'first slot on' and 'first slot off'.
    +++ (on, on)
    ++* (on, off)
    +** (off, off)
    +*+ (off, on)

    *+* (on, off)
    **+ (off, on)
    *++ (on, on)
    *** (off, off)
    In the original post, a) through h) cover all 8 options. Therefore, we're dealing with an unfair question giver. The situation from a) to h) cannot be indicative of i). Due to the lack of the presence of an extra 'slot', it is therefore most likely that something we are unable to see is present in the original question. Since there's no real question, time to make one up. If we assume that this question is in fact a wave function along an interval that would set a) through h) equal to the same value, then both * and + are fundamentally equal, so i) is all of the above.
    And there you have it. 'All of the above' is always the right answer.

    This is less of an IQ question and more of a trick question. Its deceptive and misleads people into trying to treat it like a sequence problem.

    Alright. I guess enough time is given. The answer is 'nothing'.

    There are only 2 symbols in 3 arrangements. There can be only 8 possible arrangements. Fred answered this with a short and simple explanation.

    So everyone who answered 'nothing' of any variety get it right. Anyone who answered with any variety of 'ai' gets a like. Thank you for participating.

    1. DBBDDBDBBD is to 4224424224 as BDDBBDBDDB is to?

    2. "A spaceship received three messages in a strange language from a distant planet. The astonauts studied these messages and found that "Elros Aldarion Elendil" means "Danger Rocket Explosion" and "Edain Mnyatur Elros" means "Danger spaceship Fire" and "Aldarion Gimilzor Gondor" means "Bad Gas Explosion".

    What does "Elendil" mean?

    2.
    Elros is a repeating word, and can be presumed to be 'danger'.
    Aldarion is used twice, and can be presumed to refer to 'Explosion' (in two different contexts, so it covers all synonyms, as well).
    The only remaining word in Elros Aldarion Elendil is Rocket. In English reading order, it'd be Danger Explosion Rocket.
    Alternatively, Elendil means Explosion and it's a synonym to Gondor, but this solution doesn't align well with 'Aldarion' or 'Elros'.
