Hi, As stated in the title, I was wondering if I should start reading The Charm of Soul Pets. I love summoning magic and monster tamer tags but I don't like, betrayal, children killing and when the MC suffers too much (psychologically or physically). I read 4 chapters and I saw lots of blue words and not much of green words. If it's not too much and if the rest of the story is good, I can bear with the blue words. Knowing this, would you recommend me this novel ? PS : I would appreciate if you could tell me the reasons why chose an answer rather than the other.
Although the MC does suffer he doesn't suffer anymore than the average xianxia protagonists and his experiences before entering the island are mentioned and slowly introduced to us For it to be betrayal the MC must first trust them however the MC keeps a guard up against everyone in his surroundings (he is on a prison island after all) and hasn't met anyone he can trust yet I would suggest it because every battle is strategic and isn't just "you were able to block that then let me use my ultra powerful hidden technique". The MC stands out in his logical thought processes, cunning, and lack of typical MC arrogance. The story really stands out in its world building and good antagonists who actually think
I've been avoiding this story because I thought it was some baby stuff seeing "charm" and 'pets" in the title Didn't notice it was on some bloody fuckery! On it.
Most of the suffering is in the background imagine pokemon but with limited slots and starting off in a assassin island also he gets revenge since karma is a bitch
If you liked Long Live Summons then you would like this because it goes more into depths about how to train the pets according to their attributes, foods that benefit or harm, weaknesses and taking advantage of that in battle, how actual training can benefit the pet, etc.
To summarize the novel without spoilers, think of it as a continent of beast tamers out to get each other, with the added mindfuckery of clans, intelligent beasts, snotty young masters, kind princesses, arrogant elders and a MC that can roll with the best. It's one of the better xianxia out there and while it drags in the later stages, it manages to wrap things up nicely in a bittersweet ending. Do read it
Tried reading this a week or two back but stopped in a few chapters. Now that I've read the comments seems like I'm missing out. Thanks to TSand commenters looks like I have a new novel to read.
I caught up to the translator and I wanted to thank you once again for all your answers. I really like this novel and it is already one of my favorites.
