Should legends be trusted ???

nothing personal man it just that thinking about legend really makes one wonder is that true

 

When i think about legends i wonder which part of the legend is true. Probably with that question come the stories of the authors, each trying to bring to life their interpretation of the legend.

 

Its not

 

You as in plural. I am not referring to yourself. I am referring to myth busters

 

Man just can't understand how that man introduce the concept of cultivation ?from where did he get concept ? Is it sudden enlightenment

 

people tend to exaggerate the truth and then they become legends tales myth ext. of course there are some that are made up stories that end up being passed down and exaggerated till they become a religion or a really long story.

 

A little off topic, but it reminds me of rumors and stories. They had to be based on some idea a person had or perceived.

 

Legend ---- like that after Bodhidharma death someone seen him carrying his one shoe man fucking alive ,The one who has seen him said why u r alive he said I'm going home fucking shit where is his home

Example
Legends are lies and stories that we tell that have gained some sort of implied veracity due to their age. Much like the folktales of the americas from a couple hundred years ago, the stories of paul bunyan draining the great river to make the great lakes, or a cowboy lassoing a tornado, a 1000 years from now someone could very well hear that story and think "wow, someone in the past must have been magic to use a rope to ensnare a natural phenomenon. What ancient technology did the cowboys of the 1800's have that we surely must have lost since then"

 

Your example would be a good plot for some futuristic story.

 

I guess that some of them are true while others are not. Maybe there are ghosts, maybe there are gods, maybe there are aliens. We can never be absolute with these things.

Do you have any enmity for Buddhism?

 

I'd say that legends by the end of the day are legends. They started off something at some point, but can't be sure if even that was true or it was something they told their children to be able to sleep.
