Mosquitoes aren't dogs you know, how exactly do you plan on modifying them to do something against there very reason for living?

We have drained swamps, flatten hills, cut down forests, of course we are affecting the environment. With climate change I don't know what will happen, since I keep getting to many outlandish claims from climate change promoters, with claims like not to build any more dams since it wont rain enough to fill them, despite that it's predicted that the local population where I live is going to double within the next 20 - 30 years.
I don't have a big care about mosquitoes, but i would be worried about the flow on effect of killing them off. Lets say we have a river fish that people eat, the fish live on a diet of 50% mosquitoes and 50% moths, if we kill off the mosquitoes we effectively destroy half the food for the fish, because the moth population will not increase because of the absence of the mosquitoes.

Not too sure what would happen if we exterminated the mosquitos but if you exterminate spiders it's like:"Hey insects, you know the badass animal who eat you all the time? Well we killed it so come on in, let's enjoy our happy life together insects."
Seriously, spiders help contain lots of insects so don't kill them.
Mosquitos although they transmit malaria and dengue they are good for other animals so it's not a really good choice. Also, if you want to erradicate an animal because they transmit illnesses to humans why don't you erradicate cows, pigs, sheeps, dogs, chicken, doves, etc etc and humans?

i never said it was realistic or that it should be done. if you want a better solution then wipe out all humans and many of the worlds problems can be solved just like that.

Should insects be removed then earth life will perish. so NO... without mosquitos those who eat mosquitos will die, those who eat those who eat those who eat mosquitos will also die, and then the ones that eat those will also die... you get it? at the end of the chain its us... if you remove the start of the chain the whole thing dies along with us

Its the same with bees... you know that bees goes around gathering polen from flowers and all that... i dont remember the details but bees are the ones that helps plant life florish and helps them... if bees dies then most plant life will cease to exist and mark the start of the end of the world

No, if we wipe out humans then what's left, nature? less pollution? animals with their dignities back? and less chaos? Nope, I see nothing but problems in that statement

I never knew that there are so many spider lovers in the forum...at least let those poor ants live
Humans are "intellectual creatures" that prides themselves in their problem solving skills but in the long term unawaringly destroying ourselves

No we have to get rid of bees, I'm allergic so we have common hatred towards each other. Either they go or I go.

I'm currently living in Thailand right now. As I write this, I have over ten bites all over my legs and arms, because I didn't remember to use bug spray, and you can't wear long sleeved clothing and go outside unless you want to melt yourself. As such, I vote for instantaneous annihilation of all mosquitos, regardless of their use in pollination.

I got bitten by ants a lot. So I have to get rid of them for revenge. Have you ever bring some bread for picnic, only to find them filled with red ants later? Kill the ants. The rest could live.

I don't entirely agree with you, but I get the sentiment. I was recently visiting my grandfather's farm, and as I was climbing up a hill, I was bitten 4 times. I don't normally swear, but that time I swore like a sailor.
