I say NO to wipe out the entire species. But if any exist nearby your home, kill em all. By any means, destroy their home. Kill their ancestor, larva or pets. They don't give face to us human anyway.

All this talk about ants reminder me of something from when i was a kid, i was about 5, you see on are porch we had a mini table, and if you flipped it over, it looked kinda like a tick, tack, toe board, so me and my friend would capture red fire ants and orange ants, and we would put two of them at a time, on the bottom of the table and watch fight to the death. You know what funny about that is i am deathly afraid of cockroaches ever since i could remember. Anyone do anything like that when they were a kid?

Why would you wipe out spiders? Mosquitoes bite you, suck your blood, and annoy you when outside. Spiders chill in a corner, killing any bugs in your house that get stuck in their web. As long as their not in front of me, let em live xP

Wipe out ants and you would get a lot less diversity of plants... Then food chain would be fucked even harder and the world would go down. I mean it, you know that there are so many ants that the weight of the entire ants population is bigger than the weight of every human on earth put together? Want to kill them? Cracks a joke
I know ants are quite annoying when you go out and when they get into your house but they are damn important for the world and for us.
I hate bees because they seem to have something against worldwide. They always get near me and twice they have stung me on the ear and that really hurts, but do I want to kill them? Kind of but if there were no bees then we would have no food. So don't kill entire animals populations, they all play a roll in the ecosystem.

I read an article about the Yellowstone National Park that said that I think it was around the 70s or 80s the americans had killed every wolf that lived in the Yellowstone Park and therefore the deers, elks and other herbivore animals didn't die periodically which made the green parts around the Yellowstone Park to dwindle... put that on global scala and that wouldn't be funny.

Mosquitos offer little to nothing in the food chain; the few animals that eat them only have mosquitos as a small part of their diet. Basically, if there were no mosquitos a different bug (that doesn't annoy humans as much) would rise to the mosquitos' place. This would cause barely ANY ecological turmoil, and pretty much any entomologist says so (check with a quick google). The thing is that the mosquito acts as a parasite, but doesn't really keep any populations in check, so it ends up being just annoying. If we removed it, the few animals that do eat it would just eat a couple gnats instead.

And mosquitos barely pollinate anything at all (no reason to, they drink blood not nectar), any pollination they would do can easily be replaced by more mundane pollinators(bees).

I Live in Indonesia and I've seen mosquitos as big as your thumb.

Do we need to control their population. Yes

Do we need to eradicate them. Big no.

You eradicate them you bring whole anti mosquito industry down. Along with country economy.

In some area often people tied up thieves and let them in the open. To feed big ass mosquitos. I'ts de facto death sentence. I've seen that practice once

Wrong. Females prefer blood over nectar when it's time to lay eggs because it's already prepared nourishment and it saves them energy and males prefer nectar for their normal meals because it's sweeter than blood.
The reason there are so many 'attacks' for blood is that after the eggs hatch there are too many mosquitoes and not enough flowers so there is a lack of food.

Hmm, tough decisions. Oh well, let bring more child slaves to the cocoa plantation and feed the mosquitoes. We need our chocolates.

the question is, if you're not around to determine whether it's a problem or not, is it still a problem?
