I’ve been translating/reading a novel (I have to admit I couldn't handle the Google translation so I've been trying to translate it myself as I can’t find an already translated work. Most probably badly) and found myself a bit confused and I feel silly asking but if you don't ask you can’t learn even if I do feel stupid asking what I feel is a ridiculously obvious question.

It's a transmitigation into a book novel and they keep using the term newspaper article (報社文) for the book. Is this saying it's a story that's been published in a newspaper as a serial? Or am I missing a different meaning?

I've been using DeepL translate and an online Chinese to English dictionary but there's just some terms I get completly lost with.

    因為這是一篇報社文,是作者專門用來發泄現實悲憤情緒、精心準備的報社文。

An article that triggers intense emotions.
The phrase is an abbreviation of 报复社会文。lit meaning would be an article that intends to take revenge on society.
