Recommendations Similar to a Fresh Start

I read A Fresh Start and i really enjoyed it, especially since it was a nice break from cultivation/power stories.
The fact that it was based on real life with real characters which was actually a fair representation in my opinion.

If you know of any other novels that are like this then please recommend to me!

Well no powers, real world events (recessions, wars, politics social issues etc). Guy who was I guess just another cog in the machine of America, clever but never achieved what he could have. Travels back to when he was 13 and follows his life from there. Is funny in places, a lot of drama (romance wise is literally the definition of reality) but other forms of drama as well. Uses his knowledge to get ahead in life but also tries to make his life worthwhile like he didn't before. A lot of information especially towards the later half of the novel with a good amount of detail. Some of the comedy gets a bit old towards the end but ain't really anything to get emotional over. Also gets you in the feels sometimes and gives quite a realistic representation of how I would expect one to feel and react to certain events. Characters are incredibly developed and are kept throughout the story although you do get a bit of a change of who he is in contact with but again this is done fairly well and is more of just how people progress in life. Also a lot of people might get a bit pissy because it contains a lot of politics (if you ain't somewhat interested in the military or politics I wouldn't recommend this as it may either go over your head or just bore you) but i feel that it is more based on just facts and what the general consensus is. Excellent novel and is basically completely different from anything I've ever found on NU. Also R-18 bits is less in the later half of the novel and to be honest it was basically just a few chapters of a somewhat decent erotic novel. Is a proper book though in the way it is written, topics it covers, amount of detail etc

I read it from his recomandation and finally finished it 3 hours ago. Its such a great novel . I feel lost now. So i am asking if he found any answers since i didnt find anything.

 

Lol upon your reply I just noticed this thread is almost a year old. Is the novel OP mentioned complete? Kinda tempted to read it, but what if I get into the same situation as you

 

Dont know. but you will love it or hate it . Great story. Still trying to recover the loss i am feeling. It was completed in 2014. The author seems to be thinking for 2nd part after 3 years and still not really confirmed it. so will have to wait for him

Honestly i havent found anything thats as good, simply put ain't happening. There are a few good do-over stories on that website but I haven't read too many. So far haven't found anything that is quite as good a read with such depth whilst also not getting stale.
