I remember reading a novel a few years back and recently read "I am the Fated Villain" which made me want to reread that older novel but I cant remember the name of it. It also had a cultivation setting but the MC was not as strong as Gu Changge was in the beginning. The first "MC" the main character went against lasted quite a while into the story from what I remember, and the MC eventually became super respected and kind of like a leader of the sect in the next realm(or heaven, dont remember exactly).
History's Strongest Senior Brother (and to a lesser degree History's Number 1 Founder from the same author) have the MC parodies. So does I am such an Expert; Why do I have to take in Disciples? But it lacks the seriousness of HSSB. I have yet to encounter a novel with a MC similar to Gu Changge. I have read of many evil, cruel MCs but none like Gu Changge.
