She only got engaged because it was to keep herself from marrying the king. What people fail to realize is that she did not initiate the engagement, nor did she ask for it. Cesare saved her from marrying the king by initiating the engagement himself. Ariande did not have a say in this. BUT she stayed in the engagement to prevent herself from marrying the king AND because after being engaged to Cesare, her lingering feelings allowed Cesare a second chance when he showed that he had been acting different. Thank you for the links and for helping me find the thread but yes I've seen that pickup request but I do remember that there was a spoiler thread for this or maybe I'm tripping at this point Honestly, this work's namu wiki page is very detailed with its character descriptions. I'll try to post its mtl here but only for the key characters in this series since there are a lot and whoever worked on it on namu wiki is so dedicated, I applaud them so much for that. Ariadne de Mare Spoiler: Image (30 years before the Return) {} (15 years old after Regression) {} - The second daughter of Cardinal de Marais with a maid. Her mother was a maid who served Lucrezia. It is said that on a rainy day, the cardinal, who was drunk with liquor, mistook the maid for Lucrezia and took the maid. Her mother was imprisoned after giving birth to Ariadne, and Ariadne grew up on a farm in the Bergamo estate with her servants. Spoiler: Added Info In her previous life, when Cesare courted Isabella, he did not want to marry his daughter, but Cardinal de Mare and his mistress Lucrezia schemed to bring him from the farm to the mansion. After being engaged to Cesare, she fell in love with him and dedicated her life for him. Spoiler: Other Details After the death of Alfonso, she was supposed to marry Cesare, who became the regent, but the day before the wedding, she was imprisoned in the West Tower by Cesare, and made Isabella the queen. After that, she was ridiculed by Isabella, who was crowned queen, and killed by her Moorish knights, but with the uncanny power of the Golden Rule, she returns to the age of fifteen again. In her previous life, she was overwhelmed by the atmosphere when she entered the cardinal's residence, but this time she surprises the cardinal by greeting him with a calm and elegant attitude. In episode 19, where she is active, she reveals that the apostle of Aseretto is a heretic and rescues the cardinal. For this, she received the heart of the deep blue sea from Leo III. Then she received an ornament with the queen's initials from Queen Marguerite. A new room to house the heart of the blue deep sea is also obtained. Arabella was the first of her family to recognize her outstanding lute playing skills and her talent for composing. Ariadne was the only one who comforted the wounded Arabella because of Isabella and Lucrezia, who sided with Isabella, after she was humiliated when Isabella deceived her by performing Arabella's song as her own. She received a small amount from the cardinal to hold her debutante ball, but she had money left over because she was thrifty and even received flowers from Alfonso. When Lucrezia is in danger of having Zanobi as a partner, she becomes a partner with Alfonso, who has to dance for the first time with Cesare, who came under the pretext of the king's orders. Due to Isabella's scheme, she was disgraced because the front of her dress was torn, but it was quickly settled by Alfonso's response, and her reputation did not suffer much. And her beauty stood out more than Isabella, who came in elegantly decorated and overdressed. She is later delighted that she is invited to a tea party by Julia. She was nearly killed by Zanobi by shooting an arrow at her horse in the King's Boat Hunt, but she was saved by Cesare, who showed up just in time. A splint was placed on Cesare, who injured his arm while trying to save her. At the masquerade, she meets Alfonso and has a conversation with Cesare, who suddenly interrupts him. Her troubles are that Isabella framed her as the mistress of the Marquis of Campa. Fortunately Cesare is lying to her, Isabella herself buys a grudge against Camelia and is driven as her mistress. After being cornered, Lucrezia visits her gypsy astrologer and she practices her black magic in her room to change Isabella's fate, she is caught and kicked out by the cardinal, where she becomes hostess to the De Marais. She later hears about her Golden Rule and the Judgment Seat by intimidating the gypsy astrologer. She later puts Maletta next to this Polito, returning home to use as her hand, and when this Polito persuades Cardinal Lucrezia to return, she reveals the contents of Lucrezia's double ledger and takes the place of her mistress. She tries to send her study abroad to the music school of Padua in order to change the fate of Arabella, who will die of the Black Death. She learned through the Golden Rule that Arabella was trying to deliver her iron clamps, but she had a fight with Isabella and rolled down the steps and was badly injured, when she heard Lucrezia's rant, her treatment was delayed and she died. She vows revenge on Isabella and Lucrezia. She served as a resident in place of the cardinals, this Polito, Isabella, and Lucrezia, who did not properly guard her last of Arabella. Alfonso de Carlo Spoiler: Image {} - He is the most powerful heir to the throne of the Etruscan Kingdom. He is two years older than Ariadne. In the previous life, he was Isabella's husband, and was later poisoned by Ariadne at the hands of her fiancée, Cesare, who was trying to place her on the throne. Spoiler: Other Details In his present life, when he turned 17 again, he met Ariadne for the first time at the Rangbuye Rescue Center and fell in love with her. Since then, they have maintained a close relationship and continue to develop a mutual affinity for each other by escorting as partners at Ariadne's debut prom. When Arabella died, Ippolito, who had come to Taranto, returned to San Carlo, without saying which sister died. When he left, Alfonso's heart broke when he heard that Ottavio had passed away and informed the socialites that the cardinal's daughter had died, but Isabella said it wasn't Ariadne. He tells the prince's secretary, his entourage Bernard Dino, to take the schedule off for a week. He tells them to prepare for the trip to San Carlo. He yells at Bernard Dino, who is astonished that he is doing this because of Cardinal de Mare's daughter, if the goal is to tread himself like a stallion in a stable, then the dead woman doesn't matter. As Alfonso prepares to leave, Bernardino leaves in annoyance, asking Bernardino to write roughly in response to his letter to Lariesa every morning. It was when he was about a third of his way from Taranto to San Carlo that he learned that the obituary was Arabella and not Ariadne. After confirming that Ariadne was not dead, Alfonso should have returned to Taranto, but headed to San Carlo, where the two met in about 100 days. Arabella knew from her letter exchanges that Ariadne was her family, who had the best affection for her in a house infested with her non-humans. As her weary Ariadne sheds her tears, feeling the remorse of her life, she hugs her and pats her on the back. Alfonso comforts her, fearing that her Ariadne will be her kind of person who claims she has a choice over her death. Ariadne cried for a long time while listening to her comfort, and when she pulled her head out of Alfonso's arms, Alfonso, who was wiping her tears away, couldn't stop and kissed her. She has grown up learning that she has to sacrifice herself for the sake of the country and the people, but she realizes that without her, she will be nothing but her shell. He was the kind of person who couldn't let go of his responsibilities and duties, so he wouldn't run away to the field holding Ariadne's hand, but he had the unique optimism and determination of a young man that he could do anything. The regular army of the Etruscan Kingdom was disbanded in a mess, but with abundant gold, abundant land and an overflowing nation, it would be okay without Galico's help, and I swore I would do it and broke my marriage with Lariesa. Deciding to do so, he tells Ariadne to wait for a while as he will come back after solving everything. He kisses Ariadne once more, and he touches the front of the dress, whether it's a mistake or intentionally. Ariadne's actions before her return. This is the first thing that comes to mind, and he vehemently rejects it without even thinking about the possibility of Alfonso's mistake. Ariadne's refusal surprised Alfonso as if he was covered in cold water. Unlike Cesare. Since he was a gentleman, he immediately apologized, lowered his hand, wrapped his arms around Ariadne's shoulder, kissed her on the cheek, and asked for permission, wondering if this was okay. Ariadne looked at him and smiled and kissed Alfonso. After coveting each other's lips for a long time, the two stop at Alfonso's growling, and Ariadne prepares his meal. However, the fork and spoon Ariadne had brought was the only one Alfonso would use, and he did not point out that he was lying when he said that he had already eaten, and told him to eat it again. Ariadne had been on dietary restrictions for a long time after returning home, so she felt nauseated just looking at the food. Alfonso discovers that he is having a death sentence in front of him, and immediately realizes that Ariadne is not eating well. He puts a spoon to Ariadne's mouth and tries to feed him, but when he closes his mouth and doesn't open it, he frowns slightly, puts the milk heated with sugar and dried fruit in his mouth, kisses Ariadne, opens it, and passes it over. He tells Ariadne that he wants her to be healthy, that she doesn't want her to be dry, and that if there's something delicious, don't think about it, eat it all, and don't get dark with complicated thoughts. Alfonso tells Ariadne that she is pretty and wipes her lips, but Ariadne deliberately says that he will not allow more here today just because he says that because it is a nonsense that men only say right before bed, and because he has heard it in a previous life. He doesn't get angry, puts his lips to her forehead, and says he doesn't mean that, but I want you to do what you want to do, eat what you want, and have a natural and comfortable life. And it was a luxury that Alfonso himself could not enjoy. Ariadne says that even though she can do everything neatly, she continues to worry and care like a child who has been thrown out of the water. When he says that he is not even a child because he does not do basic things like this, he denies that it is not Ariadne, who is furious, so he gives a spoon and pushes the soup bowl in front of him to try it with his own hands. However, she still can't eat easily and hesitates. As before, she whispers to her to eat quickly before eating. After watching Ariadne eat happily, Alfonso takes care of almost all the leftover food. However, he left the dessert, but he said he didn't like it very much. Before returning, Alfonso apparently ate the Sanggui Nachio Dolce that Ariadne had given him without any hesitation and was poisoned. At those words, Ariadne felt her heart sink. He will never be able to ask, but he is sure that if he also refused the Sanggui Nazio Dolce that he had given him, he ate it clean, lest he would be taken away by Cesare and tormented. When Ariadne asks Ariadne to sleep well, eat well, and take care of herself, she laughs and jokes that she is majestic, and Alfonso reiterates that how she treats her friends is different from how she treats my woman. Ariadne tends to take care of her man, and she asks how she vacated the seat as she is accustomed to it, but Alfonso tells her not to worry and she takes care of it, and she is surprised by Alfonso's response, which is completely different from Cesare. Because if it was Cesare, he would have whined at Ariadne, who asked about his difficulties and offered her a helping hand. Ariadne marveled at this difference because she was accustomed to saying that it was too difficult to leave, asking him to listen to my mysterious scheme about how I left, and boasting and begging, so she decides to trust Alfonso. Afterwards, he makes a fuss that Stefano de Rossi is coming, kisses him goodbye and walks out the back door. In episode 103, she tells Queen Marguerite that she wants to reject her marriage, and in episode 107 she crosses the line of La Liège and is angry. Cesare de Como Spoiler: Image (36 years before Regression) {} (21 years old after the Return) {} - Ariadne's fiancée before her return and the son-in-law of King Leo III. He is six years older than Ariadne. His lust for power and show-off is so strong that he longs for Isabella, the prettiest beauty of San Carlo , but with the concept of a beautiful trophy. Spoiler: Other Details Before the return, the fiancée, Ariadne. Because of this, he postponed the marriage, using the excuse that he did not accept her as the queen. During her engagement, Ariadne served as her messenger every day late into the night as an unmarried upper-class woman for Cesare's coup d'état. In the meantime, he had to chew contraceptives every time he had sex with Cesare. And made Alfonso, who had always been kind to Ariadne, poisoned with her own hands, and barely survived by drinking poison that targeted him while Cesare was regent. However, Ariadne, who was so devoted, married a merchant and sent her to the countryside, and it is said that the queen would become Isabella. Cesare tells Isabella that Isabella has been chastity throughout her marriage, so she falls under Sung Hwang-cheong's non-divorce policy, and Ariadne tells her that Isabella has already miscarried Alfonso's child. She calls Ariadne a wicked woman because Isabella's innocence was Cesare's repulsion, and she knows the contempt she felt when Cardinal De Mare pushed Ariadne, not Isabella, to her in the first place, and Ariadne knew even her replacement for her Isabella. say it can't be done After that, Ariadne imprisoned her in the West Tower because of her madness. Ariadne then dies because of her Isabella. When she first saw her Ariadne at her Mass after her return, she didn't pay much attention to her, even rebelling against her biological mother, who had her as her daughter-in-law. However, she became interested in her, who showed her prominence at her auction at her art dealer, and after seeing her beautiful appearance and grace through her debut tantée, she gradually begins to have a crush on her. . On the pretext of the king's orders, she dances with Ariadne's debut dantée ball, saving Ariadne from dying because of her son-in-law and even getting hurt. She doesn't even stop attacking her roses, clothes, and other gifts, even when Ariadne refuses her stubbornly , so much so that she becomes jealous of her when she sees her bizarre relationship with her Alfonso . In episode 66, he proposed to Ariadne, but it was overwhelming. It's the most chillingly rejected proposal I've ever received. In episode 70, she even lies when Ariadne is framed as the mistress of the Marquis of Campa, and she helps Ariadne. Isabella de Mare Spoiler: Image (32 years before the Return) {} (17 years old after the Return) {} - The eldest daughter of Cardinal de Marais and the most beautiful woman in San Carlo. Unlike Ariadne, she is a beauty with an innocent and lovely image. Spoiler: Other Details In a previous life, she married Alfonso and became Crown Princess, and her name was also changed to Isabella Mare de Carlo. According to Ariadne, she said she had Alfonso's child and had her miscarriage. Meanwhile, Alfonso is poisoned by Ariadne and Cesare takes the throne. Isabella married Alfonso because the nobles of Etruscan had to be her own, but he couldn't give him the place and Cesare allowed Isabella to give her the seat she wanted, so she seduced him. He expels his fiancee, Ariadne. Ahead of her Queen's coronation ceremony, she visits Ariadne, imprisoned in the Western Tower, mocks her and has Agost, the Moorish knight brought to her escort to rid her of her remorse, kill her Ariadne. Ariadne then regresses through her golden rule, bringing her now 17 years old. She tried to embarrass her by revealing that she wore her breast pockets at Ariadne's debut prom, but Contrary to expectations, Ariadne was not wearing a breast pocket, but was wrapped in several layers of cotton fabric and pressed against her chest! Also, Ariadne first pretends to be pitiful and beats the player, so he makes fun of the trauma of his half-sister, and is driven into a cold-blooded person who doesn't even know his brother's nickname. As an added bonus, I was also pointed out that Julia had a shoulder strap. In episode 67, he picks up the bracelet that Ariadne had dropped and witnesses an affair with the Marquis of Campa and Countess Bartolini, who is famous for being quiet. The two are caught by a noble couple and flirt, and then use the bracelet to frame Ariadne as the mistress of the Marquis of Campa, but she buys Cesare's lies + Camellia's grudge, and is driven to be her mistress. The cardinal reveals that she wears the tiara she received from Ottavio, the ring she received from Sir Ia Copo, and her breast pocket along the way. In episode 74, she is locked in a room and unable to communicate with her outsiders until she has all her meditations transcribed by the cardinal. She only eats water and dry bread twice a day and she loses all her luxuries. She comes out of her room three months after this Polito comes to her house, but Arabella pulls an iron clamp from her own room. When they find it, they fight to steal it. Not only that, but she prioritizes her own marriage and reputation over Arabella, who is about to roll down her stairs, stealing her iron clamps and watching her dying brother. *Disclaimer: The details I've posted here are pure mtl from namu wiki so there might be some mistakes on the ages, dates, and some confusions on the info.
Agreed they did such a detailed job compared to other namu wiki's, hopefully someone who understands korean or knows how decipher mtl very well can be able clear up some info since the mtl is still confusing on some parts Also correction it says the novel is complete on top, that's false, its still ongoing
Oh this got a manhwa? I read a bit of the novel a few months ago and it’s really good, I couldn’t even bring myself to hate the older sister at first lol. I’ve also seen people on Naver rooting/not saying anything bad about the trash fiancé. last thing I remember when reading comments was that people still didn’t know who’s gonna be the male lead (ch 270+), and there was another guy (his name is Raphael?) Idk what exactly was going on, but comments were saying he was the best option and things like that. the novel’s pacing is really slow though. Edit: I found the comment on Raphael (it was around ch 270 I think). I think people were just exaggerating and wanted him to be the male lead. (This was around ch 180) (And this was from 2 days ago, so I guess we still don’t know but Alfonso is probably the male lead) The sister: — the art is really amazing though
There's also a description on Namu about Alfonso that he "lacks the charisma" to become a male lead that is expected of him. Maybe that's why the readers are rooting for someone else I guess. I'm going to post it below. Here's another one about him. Random info I found: "And that he's very rough in bed " (I added this from the site. Needless to say, I was surprised) *** It's funny that the comment about the sister praises her but also calls her a btch at the same time
The sister is kind of cool tbh… she’s evil but is really smart. This was her last words to FL before she died: (MTL)
Wow, that's actually nice. I hope that the story doesn't dumb down her character when Ariadne (MC) regresses. And even though Isabella may be evil but at least it's going to be entertaining. I agree the art looks great. When I was reading about some of the background stuff about this novel, the one who wrote the info on Namu had this to post. So I'm expecting really detailed outfits. Thank you for sharing one of the photos from the webtoon. Imma add more. Spoiler: Some of the Images from the Webtoon {} {} {} (He may be dead but damn the art in this one is just *chef's kiss*) {}
Maybe the reason he "lacks the charisma" of a male lead is because most the time the authors tend to make them puppy like but add too much attention to the "2nd ML" (3rd ML?) to give them so much background not realizing it makes reader like them more. I seen it happen with most blonde ML's, they always try make them puppy like which sometimes fails to capture the readers. Ig Korean readers like more "cold" ML's? (Since the comment op said Raphael is a cold/detached man but shows favor to FL) but shit I already like Raphael too, I hope he finds happiness tho but if he's known and readers were rooting for him why ain't he mention in the wiki? I found his Wiki, he has his own page LINK since he has his own page he has to be an important character lol poor Alfonso. Anyways it didn't mention if Raphael has feeling for FL, maybe it's just readers wanting him be ML. Now after reading some of his info he doesn't seen cold/detached like what the comment said but ig we have wait see in the manhwa Now Idk why they wanted Cesare back with her though, I wonder what they said on why lol But HOLD UP!! yall telling me there's gonna be snu snu scenes?? Are FL and Alfonso dating already?
I want to know why too because when I first started reading the novel (6+ months ago), some were open minded about him in the comments lol. I found this while searching on Naver blog, but it doesn’t really mention anything. Spoiler: chapter 240 review - Ari & Cesare’s steamed love ㅠㅠ I'd like to see more of Cesare's narrative from a previous life… What became clear with this episode is that Ariadne still hasn't forgotten Cesare... How much love I've had in my past life... But if you love someone you love so badly, you might want to try to win love (?) at least once. Ari continues to show a Munchkin-like appearance in the second episode of her life, but one thing we should not forget is that in her previous life, she died at the age of 30 at most. Even if you're in your 30's, you're still a mental baby... It was the same in previous lives, but Ari in this life is dealing with too many things ㅠㅠ The process of comforting Cesare, who was mentally broken, was very touching. Thinking about the time when Cesare was thrown down by Queen Marguerite, would she think that she was also thrown out by Ari again... Still, I want you to recognize that you have a strong love and hate that you say such harsh words and not move away from it. A love story... Occasionally, in the regression, there was a case where it was solved in this way, 'I found out that it was not only me who returned, but everyone who returned', but I wish it was the case this time as well. ㅠㅠ I think you’re right because even the author said in her blog that she wants to write a ML like Cesare or Raphael in her next work. - Readers say the romance hasn’t really progressed even after 360+ chapters and it’s more focused on the FL’s growth.
The blonde look hotter than the red hair it was different in the novel illusion maybe that's why he had so many fan in the novel and not in the manhaw
Oh thanks for this, yea it would've been better to just have the ML rivalry between Cesare and Raphael. But since she said that, this does confirm the ML is Alfonso. Well atleast the story focuses on FL growth, it's good to see that more than just some romance rivalry. Wait im slow brain, what you mean by this who had more fans? Cesare (red) or Alfonso (Blonde)? The manhwa just started I haven't seen anyone talk about it so I'm not sure who the manhwa is liking more or less
Spoiler: chapter 270: Regretting and Begging (2) (Ariadne and Cesare engagement break up) <Chapter 270> Regrets and Begging (2) Cesare, staring at Ariadne with a frozen look at her as she declared their breakup, managed to smile on his lips. "You're finally talking comfortably to me." - "We're breaking up the marriage." Ariadne has always used polite respect to Cesare. Cesare did everything he could to make her talk down, but Ariadne never spoke comfortably as if she had been wearing it for more than a decade. However, only now that the end is imminent, he heard what he had hoped for. "I thought this day would never come.” Cesare folded his eyes beautifully and tried to smile. The answer to his best return was a sharp shake-up. "Don't make a fuss. Stop it here." "Ari." "Don't even call me that." Ariadne said, looking at Cesare with dark green eyes "Because it gives me goosebumps." I hope you're as sick as I was. I wish I could get a little bit back. And Ariadne's needle was exactly embedded in Cesare. His watery eyes wobbled with sorrow. "Don't do that. I can explain everything.” "Explanation? Do I need an explanation?” her birthday party. her older sister and her fiance who was burying his face in that skirt. "No, is that explainable?" Ariadne was showing raw anger for the first time in her relationship with Cesare. "What I saw, in what words can you explain it?" shouted Cesare, "I was threatened!" "What?" "Isabella threatened to scream if I didn't kiss her there!" Usually, women threaten, "If you kiss me, I'll scream," but they don't threaten, "If you don't kiss me, I'll scream." Unless there's a history. Ariadne opened her eyes sharply and asked. “There was something else before that, wasn't there?" At Ariadne's awl-like question, Cesare flinched and shivered. It was only a moment, but Ariadne's keen eyes caught it clearly. "Try everything you can do." Cesare looked up at Ariadne with a puppy-like look that was scolded by her owner. "Will you forgive me if I tell you everything?" "It's up to me after I've heard it all.” Cesare head began to spin violently. Ariadne, who also noticed it, added stiffly. "If you get caught lying...…. You know, right? There was a cold sweat on Cesare’s back. He was anxious to make a small report on the situation, but he was not confident of successfully deceiving her. Isabella de Mare and Cardinal de Mare, who seem to have not yet heard from Isabella, but know the truth, are Ariadne's family. You'll find out one day. Eventually, Cesare began to confess his stuttering work. When Isabella came to him, he mistook her for Ariadne and met her, to Isabella's hand-to-hand attack. "...so when I came back, Isabella wasn't there...…. Yes, that's what happened." Cesare wanted to use what had happened in Villa Sorotone's bedroom as a stepping stone to excuse what had happened at the ball, but Ariadne, of course, was stunned by what had happened before. "So in the end, you slept with my sister?" Deja vu. Same deja vu. Did Isabella seduce Cesare like this in her previous life? "...I was drunk." Cesare poked his forehead with a little irritation. "I've been unconscious since morning." Ariadne's anger rose further from Cesare’s crooked attitude. Now Cesare was not enough to crawl on the floor with his knees. In the meantime, he’s annoyed? Seeing Ariadne's eyebrows go up, Cesare immediately straightened his posture and began to beg with a tearful face. Ariadne hated Cesare drinking, and he hated drinking from morning. As a result, it became a poor excuse. "We had a fight over the 'Spring Festival' prom before. You didn't contact me. I've been in despair since this morning!" Cesare begged. "It's because I miss you, huh? Please cut me some slack." "How can I be sure it's just this once? Are you going to accept all the women you encounter when you're drunk?” "No, no, I can't!" "That's exactly your logic!" "I'll stop drinking! I won't drink again!" "Don't be ridiculous! I'm going to hang up! You think I've heard that story once or twice?!" It was the first time Cesare had promised Ariadne to stop drinking, even though he had told her that he would stop drinking. It was a bit of a mystery, but judging by Ariadne's look, it wasn't time to ask such a trifle. She was angry like a person who blew up about a decade's worth of anger. "You'll drink for the rest of your life, you'll never stop a woman coming for the rest of your life, and you'll play with her." "No, it's really not! It's a huge misunderstanding that I'm sleeping with all the girls I'm coming to!" Ariadne's sarcasm flew in and stuck. "Then? You slept because you longed for Isabella?" There was a grumpy smile on her lips. It was a wound disguised as meanness, and it was sadness. "Did you like my pretty sister that much?" Cesare felt it, too. This is the real Ariadne's insides, the test, and the fact that if he doesn’t pass this, he’s doomed. His voice trembled. "……letters." "What?" I didn't want to talk. It was my last pride. "…….I saw your letter." "What letter?" Cesare clenched his teeth and spat out a syllable. The frown was like a child who didn't want to eat carrots. "Letters to Alfonso." “!” Ariadne finally realized where the letters that Isabella had stolen had been used that she had not found. This is what Cesare read. Her innermost thoughts of missing Alfonso. Cesare uttered to Ariadne in a black voice. "Since when have you been in such a relationship with him?" Ariadne forgot to say and looked at Cesare. The big round green eyes stared at him gently. "Did you go all the way with him?" "Cesare!" Ariadne tried to rebuke Cesare, who was unable to cover up what he could not say, but she shut up. It was because tears flowed from her watery eyes. "Did you reject me because you missed him, because you missed him?" She opened her mouth but closed it. “…….” The whirlwind was too complicated to simply affirm. At first it was, and later it was not. It is true that the longing and guilt for Alfonso pushed Cesare away. However, the only reason for the last remaining one, which prevented Cezare from readily holding his hand, was because of Cezare. "……not because of Alfonso." Ariadne whispered as she looked at Cezare with her tearful green eyes. "The reason I pushed you away...…. It's because of you.” Because I don't trust you. I can't be sure what kind of person you are. But Cesare, who saw Ariadne's letter, thought Ariadne was lying. He shot back sensitively. "Will you put it out of the way?" He shook off his hair nervously. "It's always been like this, always!" He seemed to be indignant. Cesare rose from his seat and walked around the room to calm himself. After walking for a long time, he looked back at Ariadne with tearful eyes. "What can I do worse than him?" Since birth, Alfonso had everything that Cezare had longed for. The love of the king and queen, his unwavering position in the royal court, his front seat in public, and the affection of the woman he loves. "Why can’t I have it? To the throne of you. All I have is a mess. The social grin, and the rave of cheap people who can't even do it. All the attention that those below me hold on to me and cling to my position for free rides. Those who were truly noble, those whom Cesare loved, were not interested in him. Cesare knelt at Ariadne's feet. Wanted to hold her hand, but afraid of being rejected, he instead clasped Ariadne's skirt in his hand. "Can't you just look at me?" His blue eyes were filled with tears. The despair of an abandoned baby animal was read on the face of a grown man in his 20s. Ariadne, who grabbed Cesare’s skirt, answered quietly. "You wanted to get back at me for Alfonso's work.” Cesare nodded fiercely. He was sobbing. “You slept with Isabella and wanted to untie the lump that formed on me instead.” He nodded wildly. Words broke out between the cries. "Never… I never slept with Isabella because I loved her. It's not like that…...” Cesare’s breath and words were mixed. "I'm sorry... I don't want you to get hurt...….” Ariadne said in a low voice. "Why didn't you rather say that you slept with Isabella because she’s prettier than me?" Isabella was so absolutely beautiful that she was tempted. Then I would have killed all the prettier women in the capital. If you were a superficial person who only ranks, not a broken person from the bottom, we could have been together. When Cesare heard it, he jumped and waved. "No! Absolutely not!" He spoke frantically with a tearful face. "How can she be prettier than you? You're so much prettier!" Mechanically interpreting Ariadne's words, he quickly denied Isabella's beauty. "Isabella doesn't even have a chest. I thought it was a man because it was such a cliff. It was like two raisins on her back! It's just a bone because you're skinny and it hurts when you hit the flesh! She has a really pretty full body like you. I slept with her because she was really pretty. No.” Cesare’s tearful confession produced no results he had intended. This is because Ariadne was staring at Cesare with a battered look. In her mind, the present and the past were intersecting. - "You're so big that it feels like you're hugging a man! Your hair is black and looks like a raven!" Isabella's bright voice. intoxicated by the triumph that shone on her face - "Your chest was so big and droopy that he thought it was a cow!" It was a perfect decalcomanie. "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" At that moment Ariadne couldn't resist the sudden burst of laughter. "Hahahahaha!” Tears glistened in her smiling eyes. She has lived with a faint hope. At the end of her previous life, Cesare’s last evaluation of her was delivered to Isabella's mouth. Isabella is a trustworthy person. Not a messenger at all. So on one side of her mind, it was just a misunderstanding that what Cesare said was Isabella's ploy, and her decade wasn't a wasted time, and Cesare and Ariadne had a small hope that they would have a happy ending this time. Paradoxically, the hope was shattered by Cesare’s undermining of Isabella. Ariadne could feel it. If Cesare had been crazy about Isabella, he would have had enough of these scornful remarks about Ariadne. Ariadne in the past felt a terrible sense of defeat thanks to what she had heard from Isabella in the past. At the time, she thought she could do anything if she could beat Isabella and return it equally. But now that she can return it equally, Ariadne didn't want it at all. Cesare, daunted by Ariadne's sudden madness, was following her with his eyes. Ariadne, who was ready to burst into fits of laughter, smiled a little. This time it was a bit of a sad laugh. "Ari..." Cesare called her carefully. Ariadne did not answer, but instead kissed Cesare’s forehead lightly, kneeling on the floor. May you find peace in this life. "Cesare..." It was wrong from the first meeting. I cried, because I felt sorry for myself for the years I had held on to. One huge illusion, unable to deal with the dream being broken. She didn't want to be such a lowly person who would happily deliver to Isabella when she heard that. She didn't even want to be the winner of this fight. "God bless you." I don't have the ability to save you, and I can't be with you anymore. Ariadne rose to her feet. "Ari..." He didn't understand what her behavior meant, but the fact that the situation is unusual now was called by Cesare, who realized with an animal's senses. "Ari? Ari!" But she slowly left her study as usual. At the door of the study, hearing that the Duke of Cesare had come, he came up late, and waited for the restless maid, Sancha, and the servants of Giuseppe and Giuseppe, whom she had brought in case of emergency, to come. Ariadne gave instructions to Giuseppe in a calm voice. "Take the guest to the front door." This was so satisfying to read… it’s funny because when the novel first came out, all the top comments were saying that Isabella made stuff up because of her inferiority complex and there was no way Cesare said that, but in the end what she said was true lol. Also, the way Ari realized Isabella wasn’t lying because he said the exact same thing but to Isabella in this life…. Lots of the comments were surprised because they felt sorry for Cesare even after all that and were complementing the author. Top comments on naver: 1. This episode is really... I read the Hangul characters carefully. The process of oxidizing the love and hatred that Ari had for Cesare so far... It is portrayed in the form of Ari giving up on Cesare, where the blotchy emotions melt and disappear in an instant. 2. A heartbreaking remark... I was guessing it was Isabella's made up words, but in the end, Cesare was right. 3. Wow... So, the relationship between Cesare and Cesare from the past and this life is completely dissolved.... Yeah, he’s the ML. Naver even removed Cesare from the covers when they were advertising the novel lmao. and I guess it wouldn’t make sense if Raphael is the ML because the title is: “Sister, in this life, I’m the Queen”
I actually found it here (by mtl) on the others section in no. 6. I haven't read the novel so I don't know if there's a hint that he might be active in that department but I was just a bit shookt. That's a nasty breakup right there, I mean it needed to be done and Cesare is just making excuses at this point. I'm glad Ariadne realized that her sister was right about what Cesare told her, before the regression took place, about how it was being together with Ariadne but the only difference is that their "roles" are now switched. I'm just going to add 2 different comments that I found on this work's page on the ntoki site because I wanna know your thoughts and you could share info about it. Spoiler: Image {} So I'm actually guessing at this point but did the quality of the novel became static during the middle? I'm thinking that did happen since the novel is really long and it's still ongoing nevertheless it's doing pretty well on the Naver webnovel. Spoiler: Image {} Was it boring when you first started reading this? I've read similar comments like this one, is it maybe because the author included a lot or too much info about real history?
yeah, I’ve seen these comments too. The author used to release chapters every day, but started taking short hiatuses and there are less updates now. The reason for the hiatuses and why it’s been kind of static is because she was pregnant and was in bad health when she gave birth (she says in her blog). She’s better now though. They were saying there’s no content in the chapters (unnecessary details) like a month ago, but nobody is complaining now. Most of the recent comments are just discussing the novel and characters. But tbh… I don’t really judge by the comments because the comments on Naver are always harsh. (Like they said, they can just make the adaption faster when they reach there in the webtoon. Chapter 1-2 adapted till chapter 4 I think, so the pacing will be great) No, it was really interesting because it explains the realistic parts.
