Interesting. So I tried to mtl the novel. Since I was curious about their story I actually didn't read the arcs but skipped to ending. I want to know if this is happy ending or no. But there should be five arcs before MC returned to the real world, 10 years after his death, where MC learned that there was bounty for him. The emperor had ordered his coffin to be opened and it turned out to be empty. Convinced that MC was alive, he gave big reward to anyone who could tell MC's whereabout. People spotted MC on the street and tried to capture him but he managed to escape. Mc was able to evade ML for half month before ML found him. MC was taken back to the palace. ML held grand celebration for him and put him into empress' palace. This time though, it was ML who chased after MC. After those worlds, MC gained his feelings back. But he was hurt before so he was cold to ML. ML tried his best to please MC. He even got rid of all the concubines in the palace (he was childless and never slept with them. Those concubines were merely decorations) One night, drunk ML went to MC. They talked and kissed. ML thought that MC finally accepted him But the next morning MC was gone. Three months later, ML abdicted the throne and went after MC. He also brought special orchid from the palace, which MC liked the most. This time he was no longer the emperor, but merely a young man, just like their childhood. Mc finally accepted him back.

I just took a quick look at the arc titles and it seems that the settings for the arcs are: Emperor, pseudo brothers in modern world, martial arts (probably cultivation as well), something about fairytales?, ABO, and back to his real world.
First arc - MC is a tutor to a spoiled and arrogant 9th prince. Mc mission was to make the prince become the emperor but the prince was without ambition. Mc taught the young prince well through coaxing and tsundere prince slowly fell in love with him. The 9th prince was literally jealous of everyone- MC friend, his brother, his own concubine, the rabbit etc. (one huge pot of vinegar there) 9th Prince finally became the emperor only because MC desired it. Emperor had to marry a princess for political reason and was against it. MC gave emperor a medicine that make emperor forget about him. The empress dowager (emperor’s mom) made everyone not mention anything about emperor’s tutor. But MC friend asked emperor if he really forgot about MC on his wedding night and emperor remembered. He rushed to MC home and apologize for forgetting MC. Mc told him that it was his intention to make him forget. In the end, the emperor went crazy set the place on fire and died kissing the Mc saying that - in this life or the next, our fates are tangled (this translation is not very accurate).
