A quick sketch (it still took me several days though, lol) of Art's cousin - Sophie Bettenfeld. Several words about Sophie: First, she is probably my favorite heroine. The original Sophie appears in my second novel of my fictional world (Aell Sweithe part 2) and is also cousin to main hero there - Max (i hope i'll have the time to start translating it and uploading it...). And because i like and her very much, i decide to put similar character in the HEMA Freak. The current Sophie Bettenfeld is the grand-daughter of Max. Also, because the HEMA Freak novel is almost all about the history of my fictional world and historical reenactment, i chose her main affection to be the Falklan Period (something like the Napoleonic wars in our world). So, expect in the future a pic with Sophie in a full battle gear from that period (i won't spoil any more. ) I'll also put here other art (expect something very interesting soon... ) Also, if you are interested in what her fighting style will looks like, here is a quick demonstration:

So, i have finally managed to finish my first novel illustration... And it is 5 in the morning here (shit...). Which means that i'm probably going to sleep through my day off, but well, nothing to regret. Soo, this is illustration from my volume 3 (not quite translated yet, but i really wanted to draw it!) On the left is Rio, on the right is Sophie. Characters on the background from left to right are: Hion, Akio (behind Rio), Nym, Hifumi, Ren, Mio, Art (how conveniently i have hidden him behind Sophie, hehe) and Vik. You can place your bets who is gonna win before i upload the relevant volume. ;D
So, i have managed to finish another one... This time it is the first ever fight in the light novel - Art vs Amemori! It demonstrates the master technique, The Absetzen, which is deflecting a thrust or hew at the same time as stabbing. It usually counters high guards such as Vom Tag and especially strikes like oberhau. Spoiler: ART VS AMEMORI

Well, just look at it this way: Hard practice will make you eventually reach your goal. Talent will add to that how fast you will reach it. I have also spent years writing and drawing and i'm still nowhere near where i want to be. Just don't lose heart.
