    I haven't read ahead, but I wonder how much there really is to look forward to in the next 500 or so chapters.

    We're 150 chapters in and the MC has become strong enough that is mission from the goddess looks to be completed in all but name, he already has social status, owns property, and has several wives - pretty much all the conditions for a guy to retire from adventuring and live as a feudal lord while raising his family and indulging in his hobbies are met.

    If I didn't know the raw is up to 747 I'd think this story was winding down.

    That paywall site Alpha Polis also runs a lot of code in your browser to prevent you from accessing the text without a lot of trouble. If I even move my mouse cursor off the reading window for the raw, I can see various code run in the debugger and the browser immediately removes the text.

    It could also be that the author is making a business decision with the creation of cute characters. It wouldn't be the first time that authors wanted publisher sites such as Alpha Polis (or Syosetu --> Kadokawa) to put up funds to create an anime series as it can have more anime goods to sell. Anime shows need merchandising sponsors, but the story has to provide ways for merchandisers to have character goods, products, cross-channel marketing, and licenses to sell.
