    Summary:
Question: “What is scarier than the personal experience of transmigrating into a horror movie?”
Anonymous: “Transmigrating into a movie you’ve never seen before."
”Poor comment! There’s nothing scary about that!”
Anonymous reply: “You sure? Can you be sure your dad isn’t a murderer? Can you be certain your spouse isn’t out to kill you for insurance money? Can you even be certain there isn’t any hidden lethal weapon in your son’s lunchbox? The scariest thing is that you have never seen this movie before so, you have absolutely no idea of any ‘surprise’ that awaits you ahead!”

Hence, this novel is also called <’surprise’ that awaits you>.

A line to sum it up: The female lead transmigrates into various movie adaptations of real stories, and conquers the audience.

Sounds interesting. So the MC transmigrates into movies that have been changed? That's why we can't predict anything?

I think the MC transmigrates into movies that haven't been filmed before so she doesn't know the plot or story. Then after she finish each movies, she goes back to the real world to act in movies that is similar to the world she transmigrated into.

I am guessing it’s the son of her moms fanboy director, the director was a fanatic fan of her mom and hates the MC bc he thinks she’s a stain on the Moms acting Glory.

So he goes out of her way to oppress her because he wants to pressure her out of the movie industry.

Directors son hates MC bc his dad likes Mc’e dead mom more than than his own dead wife.

    On her mother's deathbed, her mom asks her if she wants to be an actress as amazing as her, MC says yes, even when asked if she is willing to act even when her wife/husband is dying in the hospital giving birth, MC says.. uh yes? and the moms like LOL you dumbass, men cant give birth, but if you are serious about this, take this movie ticket and watch this movie alone at midnight at this shady location;

MC is led into a theatre by masked staff, theyre all wearing cryface masks.. The movie title rolls and it lists the main actors Chen something and Li something.

When the movie starts, MC has transmigrated into a sheltered mask-wearing girl with a daughter-con father. She's so sheltered she has no idea what her father does for a living, all she knows is he is filthy rich and obsessively loves his daughter. That and everyday her nanny sings praises about MC's beauty. MC asks why she can't take off her mask, the nanny responds its because her father is so protective he has decided only 2 men can see her face, her father and her future husband, MC asks what happens if a third man sees her face? Nanny responds "Then there will be one less man in the world" to which MC laughs and thinks, this lady is clearly an old maid so who does she sound like she works in a crime syndicate?

One day MC's dad brings 2 acrobats over to entertain her one day, and their names are Chen and Li which gives her a hunch that theyre in a film! The film she was watching at the Life Theatre. The female acrobat, Li starts dancing closer and closer to her and eventually gets close enough that she tries to strangle the MC, but before she can, the nanny has already knocked her down. MC's father calmly gets up and repeatedly smashes Li's head into the concrete floor, turning her head into a bloody mess, while MC frightened begs him to stop. Her father agrees to stop but says she cannot escape punishment or in the future, people will think this is permission to bully the MC.

He brings out a box of wooden animals and asks MC to pick one, and she picks a puppy carving, to which the female protag Li is horrified and screams begging her to pick anything else but that one, MC is confused why the Li who didn't fear death is afraid of a little puppy statue being chosen... so she picks a mouse but notices something off about the carvings all of a sudden.. they seem to have partially human attributes.. a human faced dog.. a snake with breasts.. as Li get's dragged off by her father, MC asks the nanny what will happen to her: "What she deserves" is the only answer she gets.

Left with the Male Protag: Chen, she suddenly thinks her father's job being so lucrative he must be a human trafficker? or run a circus judging by the acrobats. She gets Chen to perform for her and when he makes a mistake he begs her to punish him (to avoid a greater punishment at the hands of her father). She asks him what he fears most: "rats", though he omits that he's actually scared of being eaten ALIVE by rats, and she's like ok then: eat whats in my hand, but in her hand is a pastry not a rat. She laughs and says rats are nasty and did he really think she would make him eat one? She gives him a bunch more to take back and he leaves.

Back in his bunk, Chen talks one of his fellow room mates "Little Freckle" into believing that due to his poor performance, MC's dad is gonna eliminate him. At this point in the novel it's clear to MC that her father is a villain, albeit a villain who truly loves his daughter.

When it's little freckle's turn to perform for the MC, desperately he lunges forward and rips the MC's mask off exclaiming "Now that I've seen your face, I'm your future husband!" - but in the next second he sees the MC's full face and says in horror "So UGLY-" before MC's dad shoots multiple rounds of bullets into Freckle's body, not even ceasing to shoot when the body was clearly dead.

MC's father is aware that Chen instigated Freckle and tells him that since he is so smart that he could get Freckle to work for him, he should be smart enough to reverse the damage, since now MC has come to realize that she is ugly and won't believe anything otherwise. (Previously, every day her Nanny and Dad and Servants would sing praises about her beauty, but now she's realized she's not good looking).

TLDR: Chen plots and invites MC to the circus on her birthday, convincing her that even though she's not allowed outside normally, her father would never deny her on her birthday.

He reveals to her the true nature of her father's circus by leading her past the fake front of the circus that her father had set up: MC's dad kidnaps people and has them choose an animal in the box, then he melts them into those animals via surgery and alchemy: the singing dog was once a human who chose a dog statue from the box. When MC's Dad finds them, he is upset to see the fear in MC's eyes.

He wants to kill Chen but at MC's bidding he lets Chen choose his fate from the wooden box instead of deciding for him. Chen sneers thinking does MC think it's a favour?? He is left alone with the box and given time to choose, but he escapes with MC's help and alerts the authorities of the true nature of the Circus. When he looks into the box that he took with him to further explain the story, he is shocked to find there are no wooden animals in the box, just a peace of paper that says "people", MC wanted to choose for the humans to be human, not turned into animals.

When the mob finds MC and her father they rip off her mask and are shocked to find that the Number One Beauty is horrifically deformed! They beat her and jeer and call her ugly which causes her father to break down and scream and demand them to stop but he is tied to a stake that is slowly catching fire. MC being sheltered does not understand why they hate her too. She gave them pastries and was nice to them and did not personally harm them! Chen arriving at the scene is a little upset to see her bleeding and bruised from the crowds beating and he extends his hand to her promising he will keep her safe, but MC is too heartbroken and disillusioned, everyone is cruel to her, nobody can be trusted, only her father calls her beautiful, and loves her, and treats her so kindly, she breaks away from the ML and throws her arms around her father who is catching flames. The father also breaks free of the stake but does not run, he just holds the MC and cries, looking up at Chen with hatred he declares a final curse that he will not forget this incarnation and that he will remember his face and continue to haunt him in each life!

The father and daughter die and the movie ends, MC wakes up sobbing in the theatre in grief over the loss of her father (from the movie that she transmigrated into).

The masked workers in the film kick her out of the theatre and she takes a taxi home.

    TLDR:

MC returns to buy a second ticket at the threatre but is told they don't sell tickets, but an elderly woman arrives at the theatre and says she has waited 15 years for this movie "Abandoned Son" to be available for viewing again. The woman has a stroke and mc escorts her to the hospital where the woman dies, but not before giving MC the ticket to the second movie and begging her to change the boy's fate!

After she transmigrates into the second movie she later finds a newspaper with similar events as that "movie" and realizes the transmigrations are a form of time travel.
    _______________________________________________________________________
MC also develops the same disease as her mom and was told that her mom left a video for her in the event that she develops the same disease (ie in the event that she transmigrates).

IN the video mom reaffirms conclusions that MC herself has drawn:

    1) the transmigrations seem to be a form of time travel

but she also adds some new tips

    2) don't escape the staff working at the theatre
    3) don't accept movie tickets from the people wearing masks
    4) timelines can only be altered 2 times
    5) her mom want's MC develop a life-movie of her own, but first requests that the daughter use 3 of the mom's life tickets.

(mom's life tickets = she transmigrates back in time into her mother's life, as someone random ie her mom's co worker, a crew member, her landlord etc).

The male lead is.. the gate keeper of the Life Theatre.. very confusing lmao because there is also a … doorman of the Life Theatre who played the villainous father in MC's first film.

So there's a Father Figure and a Love interest who both work at the theatre and who both have been inceptioned into the MC's life through different timelines!

Father Figure staff wants MC to stay away from the theatre since it was hinted that it could shorten MC's life span?, Love Interest likes being in movies since he can keep falling in love with MC.

Father Qu (villainous dad from the first transmigration) works at the theatre and wants to lure the ML/FL from the Circus Movie's descendants into the Life Theatre to trap them there as revenge for what they did to MC back when they burned alive. That's why he works at the theatre.

He refuses MC's offer for her to take his life ticket and help him move on! Mc genuinely loves him as a parent and is heartbroken, she tells him ML/FL have died off but that the father and daughter (MC) are alive and can move on together! but the dad is bitter and says "ha, does this count as living?"

Ok im dumb so I just realized, the Fanboy Director who is oppressing MC+his son who hates MC are both surnamed Chen and obviously main and recurring characters::: THE ML from first movie is SURNAMED CHEN. MeaNiNG!! Some staff at the theatre would be very interested in luring Chen company into the threatre to be trapped there for eternity ((

I am honestly amazed at how much MC loves the villainous dad turned Life Theatre Gatekeeper, she is now motivated to finding clues on how to free him and her love interest from the grips of the theatre, but I think her amazing acting skills might lead Chen Son to investigate her sudden acting source and be lured into the theatre.

That and her former adopted nephew/son from her second movie is now a grown man who she has met irl, she is upset because she thinks she is indirectly making him desperate and the threatre can only be found by desperate people.

The relationships of everyone are super sticky bc of timeline jumps!

Her Love INterest/ THeatre staff member can't join films since this one timeline where he was tricked into becoming a staff member instead of an actor.

But he lives at the theatre and watches the transmigration movies with her. He seems.. very devil may care considering he is fine with his situation.

Other masked staff have told him since he likes MC so much he should trick her into becoming a staff so they can stay together forever, but he says maybe he will be tempted later but at the moment he just likes watching her!!

He's such a flort I honeslty don't know if he is endgame love interest or a potential villain in the making, because he refers to himself as her ex and she's like no.. so he's like lol then current boyfriend? and she's to embarrassed to clarify.

I can't pin his motives at ALL.

I feel like i'd need to write a lot to include a lot of details, because this is a novel where details all mean something. There are no plot holes and nothing is abruptly introduced, everything is foreshadowed, hinted at, explained or provides enough explanation that you can fill it in yourself.

After returning from the first transmigration film "The Republic Circus",

MC is told by Director Chen (aka the fanboy asshole who is so in love with her mother's acting that he wants to crush MC just because he think's she's a stain on her mother's legendary history",

Director Chen tells her she's acting in a human version of Little Mermaid, where a blind man is rescued by a beautiful young woman, and when he asks her what she looks like she jokingly says she is ugly. When the woman leaves, he is discovered by an ugly rich girl who takes him home. When his eyesight recovers he sees the ugly girl and assume's she is the original rescuer because of the jokingly said "im ugly" and pursues marriage, the ugly girl accepts.

Cut to the scene where the man finds out the truth and condemns and punishes the ugly girl for "tricking him" when it was his own assumption. MC overwhelmed by the spirit of the deformed daughter in the Republic Circus film is hysterical, screaming "when did I hurt you, why are you calling me ugly, I've only been good to you and treated you well!", and seeks protection from her sole source of protection in life: her loving father, when she calls for her father to save her she suddenly stops and realizes- .. oh, that's right, he's dead.., and the life goes out of her and instead her face twists into an sinister ugly snarl and she swears an oath to curse them upon her death.

Director Chen is shook by her acting but feels it's got to be a fluke based on her mother recently passing away = experience on the topic of seeking parent/ mourning parent death part of her act.

Since his goal is to have her act horribly and crush her esteem instead of promote her growth in the industry, he suddenly decides to have her act in The Phantom Opera instead of it (Ugly Girl Play), so she can be forced to reveal flaws in such a complex and difficult to act role.

MC as a result makes the decision to revisit the Life Theatre in order to further hone her acting skills, but this time she has no ticket, and she is unable to purchase a ticket since they don't sell any! At this time, an elderly woman shows up early to enter the Life Theatre as well, as tonight "the abandoned son" is playing at the Theatre and she has waited 15 years for this film to play again! The woman however suffer's a stroke and MC calls an ambulance and accompanies her to the hospital where she dies, but not before she hands MC the ticket. MC pays for her funeral as the woman's asshole brother hangs up on the doctors when he hears that she has died.

Before the woman dies she agitatedly cries about needing to save someone, and 1998 1998 1998!

When MC goes to the theatre with the ticket in hand, she learns this Ticket has a special time designation value where she can select the time when she enters this story, thinking of how the dead woman and had said 1998 so anguishedly, MC chooses 1997 to give her ample time to prepare. She asks the gatekeeper if there are any hints for her, and he says he cannot say, but adds as an afterthought "stay away from the main character".

When the movie begins she blacks out and she find's herself with the same name as the woman who died at the hospital (and gave her the ticket). She transmigrates to a scene where she is at a funeral of her widowed sister who had died in an accident where she fell down the stairs, leaving her young, mute from shock, son behind.

When they are deciding which relative can now care for the child, the child steps towards her but MC rebuffs him, telling everyone not to expect her to care for the child because she can barely support herself income-wise and she has no parenting ability. After arguing amongst themselves, it's decided that another relative who already has 3 kids will take the boy along, albeit unwillingly.

MC goes home and spends her days job hunting, and rebuffing her ex who keeps trying to mooch off her, additionally phantom of the opera is playing at the theatre locally, so she auditions there, until one day she hears of another tragedy, the relative family who had taken in her nephew from the funeral had all died of poisoning with the only survivor being her little mute nephew.

MC goes to pick him up, but still cannot properly care for him and tells him so, she goes hunting around for people to adopt him, and settles on a man who cant have kids, the man cares for the boy and takes the kid to work at a restaurant, when MC hears the news that a cook at the restaurant had accidentally left a fire on in the kitchen burning the building down and the man was trapped in it, leaving the nephew without a guardian again.

MC seeks a third adopter and gives him to a sweet lady, but she brings him back one day and states she can't help this child, MC gets angry that kids aren't kittens you can just try out and decide to bring back, but the teacher lady shrugs and asks.. have you seen the images he draws?? When MC asks for what he drew she doesn't respond and just leaves, she later goes missing and her body is fished out of the ocean. She goes to her nephew and asks to see the painting but he hides it behind him and refuses to show it, sighing she decides to keep him with her, asking him if he's okay to stay with her even though she's struggling to make ends meet and would likely not make a good parent, the kid hesitantly agrees to stay.

At this point her brother wanders over and asks to care for the child, saying he can take the kid on and hasn't she heard all the horrible rumours that the kid is followed by death in every home he's been into? MC snorts and says she doesn't believe in that stuff and that she is fine to keep him at her home which stuns her brother, and he disagrees but is unable to change her mind to get rid of the boy.

At the Phantom Opera that she has auditioned at she is asked to play the role of a ghost by Director Chen! (the same director who oppresses her irl but younger, he has a slightly different mindset at this age and she reasons it's because this is the fake transmigration story version of Director Chen).

TLDR Phantom of the Opera backstory: Ghost haunting a theatre loves a mediocre actor in the theatre, creates opportunities for him by killing off his rivals, and teaching him to sing better from the shadows.

In this act she is the ghost and a pretty actress is playing the role of Girlfriend to the Ghost's Love INterest. The actress asks whose there?! and runs up to catch the "ghost" MC in order to make MC look bad because what kind of "Ghost" gets chased and caught by a human instead of the other way around? MC improvises and dodges running away, making the actress think she's won, but she keeps stopping just out of reach as a way to taunt the actress into following her further and further, eventually she tricks the actress into walking into a cellar and knocks her into a coffin from behind and shuts the coffin lid on her. MC sit's on the coffin and claps singing children songs, and that's how Director Chen and company find them both when they catch up. The director is inpsired and calls CUT, and immediately tells everyone to scram and reassemble later as he needs the silence to write down the inspiration that has suddenly come to him.

At this point MC is actually shaken because at some point during the act she was possessed by the daughter of the Republic Circus act who is childishly malevolent and sings the wooden box of animal songs. She regains control of her senses and tries to make a point to maintain control and expel the ugly daughter begging that her act is over and she shouldn't still be such a big shadow in the MC's life. (I feel like this is less a possession and more a form of PTSD/Engraving of that life on MC, since there are times when realities are too real and feel overlapped.

She starts bringing her nephew to work but he is unsociable and stays in the cellar of the theatre all day, away from people, and generally creeps all the staff out, so the staff are eager to persuade her to pawn the child off on her brother since he offered to care for him, but she disagrees saying the kid is fine, but one day the pretty actress snatches the kids painting and turns it over to see it, she is later found dead in the theatre. People now suspect MC has the motive of jealousy to kill the popular actress.

The kid decides to up and leave with her brother, and she's heart broken and chases them begging him to stay with her, and he just passes her a note saying "I don't want to stay with you because you don't make much money and cant support us both, and you get mad a lot and aren't a mature parent".

She returns home sadly to find the painting that he always carries around and refuses to show people, it depicts in childish drawing his mother dead at the bottom of the stairs, while her brother stands at the top (he has skinny tall distinct features), and a skinny man standing over a dead fat man in flames (the kitchen incident), and she realizes the plot, the child leaves with the killer in order to spare his Aunt's life. In horror she runs out into the rain to find them, while around her there's a party nearby where people are singing advertising a 1998 planning party, singing 1998 1998 (honestly the correct date is probably 1988 lol, im misremembering the exact date), and she realizes the woman on the deathbed hadn't been saying a year of importance, she had been anguishedly remembering this awful scene.

She finds her brother holding the child at knife point and begs him to release the child promising not to tell authorities, the brother laments that he's obviously not a killer but this child has made him kill so many innocents, (first death of the kids mom was an accident, later he tried to poison the kid to rid the witness, but the family ate the poisoned food he gifted the kid, without sharing any to the unwanted kid out of spite, thus sparing his life but ending theirs, then he meant to burn the kid in the kitchen fire but unexpectedly someone else was in the kitchen and the kid wasn't, the kid showed the painting to the third adopter, so he killed the third adopter and threw her in the ocean).

The brother agrees to let the kid go and when she grabs the kid and hugs him, he stabs her! No way would he trust his own sister when he's already attempted to kill his nephew so many times just bc he "suspected" wasn't even sure at first that the kid actually saw him push his mom.

Authorities are alterted and the dying MC tells the nephew to be a good kid and assures him he is fine and that he brought light and warmth to her otherwise "living only to survive" lifestyle. MC has altered the original ending to her dying to save the nephew instead of nephew sacrificing himself so she survives (what should've happened).

The Movie Ends and the MC wakes up in Life Theatre to find that the title of the Movie had changed from Abandoned Son to another title related to phantoms, and she is confused but doesn't think much of it. Gatekeeper says "i told you you should've stayed away from the protagonist :/

Later irl when she researches the background history of the Phantom of the Opera she comes across some old news of Wen Ning (ish) whose death boosted the hype of the show and lended to it's popularity and how Director Chen had not stated her innocence regarding the murder of the popular actress until After the shows were done. MC is shook because WEN NING is the old lady who gave her the ticket and died, and her grave no longer exists bc instead of dying of old age, she dies to her brother's knife in 1988! This is when MC realizes she isn't wearing a "story character", she is wearing the skin of actual people in time and it has an impact in her life's history. (That and the dick director she met in the second film who took advantage of the murders to make media hype, is actually the same fanboy director in her current life, just she met him in a different persons body at a different time period of his life).

MC passes out and is taken to the family doc and is discovered to have a similar health issue has her mother. This triggers a situation where the doctor was instructed that if one day MC has same health situation as the Mom, he should give the MC the key to mom's secret apartment.

In Mom's apartment, mom isn't really sure of much either regarding the Life Cinema, but requests the MC to use 3 of the Moms life tickets to see her mom's life (one is also a general ticket) before she lives and invents her own Life Theatre, and she leaves information she knows:

Don't change someones timelines more than 2 times
Don't accept a movie ticket from a masked staff member
Don't run past staff and sneak into the theatre without a ticket (ticket evasion)
