If I remember correctly in chapter 95 Reika is as a class representative, and they will dance "the quadrille" when she says about the dance several guys look at her but she notices that they look at her and they look away, a boy he approaches her and asks if she is going to dance to what she says no, the boy looks disappointed In conclusion I think that there are guys who are in love with Reika (sorry for my bad English)
Ah...unfortunately, in that case, the boys just want to enact a pun on her nickname....y'know, cause of her "drill" hair... From chapter 99: Yeah, there's definitely some self-sabotage involved. That's why even Aoi-chan at first thought that Reika is not interested in romance. Though in Bakaburagi and Enjou's case, people (or at least her girlfriends) just think Reika's denials are from reservedness and/or bashfulness. Even though Reika's denied having feelings for them several times, she's still shipped hard with those two. Your analysis on Kisshouin-mama's and Tanuki-papa's is very persuasive! I still think they're putting their eggs in one basket, but yeah objectively I see why they think Reika has a good chance of bagging Bakaburagi. I also forgot the bit about the Kaburagis being THE richest family in Japan...Did they ever mention in the series how the Enjous and Kisshouins rank against each other though? Yeah...I've also considered this to be a potential explanation for why Enjou was not considered (plus does anyone remember when Oniisama gave that ambiguous reaction when Reika told him Enjou said Yuiko was a relative?) The only thing that bothers me with this theory is why no one at school seems to know of Yuiko before that cultural festival. You would think one of the fangirls would've find out had the arrangement been so well-established. I really love the moment when Reika told Oniisama and Imari that she had no trouble over people breaking curfew in that overseas school trip...Oniisama might be more high spec than Reika in almost every way, but HE didn't have a secret police! Hmm...Hiyoko has gone on long breaks before but I believe this is the longest break in a long while. Crossing fingers for a March update! Dare we hope for substantial development in chapter 300?
Kaburagis are the highest and most powerful, as they have “hands in every business around the world” according to Reika. Although we aren’t given a clear understanding of who ranks higher than who, we know that Enjou and Kisshouin are lower ranked than Kaburagi, but higher than any other family in the Pivoine (evidenced by Reika only ever showing deference to one woman, Youko, the ex-Pivoine President. Besides her, Reika never made special mention of any girl being higher than herself, so we can assume that aside from Youko, Reika was the undisputed Queen of Suiran (which makes me wonder why Tsurahana kept provoking her)). However, an heir and future leader of a group will rank higher than a simple heiress (as Reika is not set to run her family’s business, unlike her Oniisama, and its pretty clear Japan still has some sexist views (Remember that Mao-chan’s status as heir was passed to her newborn baby brother), so socially, Shuusuke is higher than Reika. Reika does state that aside from two people, she is unchallenged in Suiran, but its possible that she considers Shuusuke unchallengable because he is so close to Kaburagi and his house is probably on the same rank as her, and their history of Shuusuke taking advantage of her. In the end though, its never stipulated if Enjou is higher than Kisshouin or the other way around, as Enjou rarely joins in on the politics of Suiran and Reika doesn’t elaborate on it. Its not like we don’t know for sure if no one at Suiran knew of her. Remember, she does go to a different school, and is older than them (which puts her in University as Reika and co. are in their final year of high school). Its also likely that because there has never been any official statement coming from either house on the matter that most people would not care to label their relations as offially engaged. Also, while I forgot to mention this, Enjou was brought up passingly by K-Mama as a potential husband candidate for Reika, in primary, and recently again when she knows Reika gets along with the youngest Enjou. Meanwhile, Oniisama had asked her about Enjou, so its likely that the idea of Shuusuke being Reika’s potential husband candidate IS on the minds of the Kisshouin household, but they aren’t really planning to go in the direction because they’d prefer not to be in conflict with the Uryuus, which is where both Enjou Mama and Yuiko come from.
Good point about the gender hierarchy - I didn't think of that, but it makes perfect sense. I don't dispute that Reika thinks Enjou ranks higher than herself but personally I think that was more due to Reika's timidness (she's scared of Tsuruhana even though as you mentioned, she really does not need to) and his connection to Kaburagi. I just wonder if I missed an excerpt explicitly stating that one family ranks higher than the other. Um, ok, can I ask which chapters you inferred this from? I remember Kisshouin-mama commenting that Reika is making wonderful connections in Suiran since she brought home Yukino that one time, but I really don't recall any instances where they considered Shuusuke as a potential husband candidate. From my impression Kisshouin-mama consistently only has Kaburagi in mind for Reika.
There was the time in primary when her parents were asking her what she thought about Masaya, whom she vehemently responds would never be interested in her. Then they asked about Shuusuke, which she responds in a similar manner. Considering how they were bringing up Masaya often because they wanted to matchmake them, I presume they brought Shuusuke up for the same reason. However, they had not been much interested in having him as a son-in-law when compared to Kaburagi. I got that from the time Reika brought Yukino over to her house to play and the times he was brought up by the Kisshouin-Parents. From what I inferred, K-Mama was noting that Reika gets along very well with everyone in school, and passingly remarked that she got along very well with the Enjou group’s children. Take from that what you will, but she was definitely hinting at a closer relationship between the two than what is actually their relationship— distant “friends”. Well, unlike Masaya, they’re not keen on getting their daughter married to Enjou. It probably has something to do with the standings of the Enjous, perhaps they’re of the same rank so they don’t see a need to marry their daughter into the family, or they’re really wanting to put all their hopes on the Kaburagi route.
Hmm...I didn't get the same impression about Kisshouin-mama's comment of the Enjou's group children, since she didn't mention Shuusuke specifically. As for the primary school arc, I just did a quick skim through- Kisshouin-mama and Tanuki-papa prodded Reika twice about Kaburagi (chapter 4 and chapter 19) and Kaburagi only. They didn't mention Enjou at all. Perhaps you're referring to Oniisama's prodding? He seems to be more in the know in regards to Enjou. But yeah, I agree that Reika's parents definitely want Kaburagi above all. I'm kinda dreading/hoping for the moment when rumors about Wakaba reached their ears (and Kaburagi-mama's). Potential forced engagement plot? Only unlike in the manga Reika will be all for sabotage.
My delusions are stronger~ ahaha~ I’m pretty sure I saw it before, but because I can’t find it right now, I’ll go look for them later. Maybe you’re right and it is Oniisama, but I really recall one of the parents asking about Shuusuke. Considering how they haven’t loosened their “we are a special class of people” way of thinking and K-Mama is still telling Reika to choose her associates, I can only imagine a very horrible reaction similar to the ones the Kaburagi fans are experiencing. We don’t know much about how Madame Kaburagi views others, but considering that in the manga, she was unwilling to let Masaya and Wakaba get together till the dark history of the Kisshouin’s were revealed, I sincerely doubt that she’s gonna react positively. Especially since the “perfect girl” Kisshouin Reika is a viable option for marriage with her idiot son. Actually, that just makes me wonder what would’ve happened to Wakaba if Maihama learned of those rumors and decided to get petty. We know Maihama isn’t opposed to blackmailing others (I think thats what Sakura said), but a commoner getting close to the Emperor and actually having his attention? Gods have mercy on Wakaba-chan.
Well since we're talking about delusions, may I share a daydream I had about how Reika and Wakaba's friendship would be revealed? (this is before we found out Maihama has moved on and gotten a boyfriend at the Tanabata party, mind) - at that time I thought Maihama would take Manga Reika's place as the main villainess in the story. Reika mentioned one event where Wakaba gets pushed off from the stairs, so in this scenario, Maihama was visiting during the cultural festival, found out about Wakaba and FREAKED. The pushing took place, only for Reika to save Wakaba (getting injured in the process). Enjou was gloriously furious - and every single behind the scenes action that Reika took to protect Wakaba was revealed. Bakaburagi was suitably humbled and depressed that someone else had protected Wakaba better than he did....yeah...Ahem. On that note, I should probably reread your fic and leave a proper review. It's the only thing right now staving my hunger for new Kenkyo chapters.
I can imagine it so clearly right now. The setting, the shock, the frustration on Maihama's face as she realizes that she's not only being upstaged by Reika, but also by a mere commoner with plain looks (cause apparently Wakaba isn't that pretty? Or at least, that's what I am assuming since no one ever made a comment on if she's pretty or not). She runs off and confronts Wakaba, and all the students would have normally looked the other way, but if there is one thing I understood, the girls of Suiran hate outside girls's clinging to the Emperor more than an insider, so they begin an argument. Maihama doesn't care and becomes infuriated at the peanut gallery. Reika sees how bad everything is starting to turn out, so she quickly steps in to mediate the situation, until Maihama shoves Wakaba. Reika instinctively reaches and grabs Wakaba, and saves her from falling. However, she isn't able to hold Wakaba's weight and momentum, so instead she only manages to push Wakaba out of the way and falls down the stairs herself. The hall goes deathly quiet, before frantic running can be heard and screaming. Enjou appears by Reika's side and starts checking up on her, his calm composure completely destroyed as he frantically checks her for bruises. He sees one mark Reika's delicate skin, and the Demon King awakens. He orders someone to get aid for Reika, and then gives Maihama a verbal lashing and beatdown, humiliating her in front of everyone, and threatening that she has made herself his enemy. Mizusaki and Masaya appears (late, as per usual) because of the screaming and sees an injured Reika and a frantic Wakaba. The hall goes silent once more as he demands an explanation. Maihama fidgets, fearful of the result of her actions, and tries to sweet talk Masaya, but he isn't having any of it. He gives her his most disgusted look, then declares that he never wants to see her face ever again, then orders everyone to disperse and that he and Enjou will bring Reika to the clinic. Mizusaki has Maihama kicked out of Suiran for injuring a student, and tells her that she will definitely be receiving a call from the Suiran due to her behavior (and a possible lawsuit from the Kisshouin's for injuring their daughter). Mizusaki takes her away. Enjou princess-carries Reika to the clinic with Masaya in tow, and treats her injuries. Masaya is utterly shocked and confused by Reika's actions, and asks her to explain herself. Reika tries to deflect it by saying she was only being a decent person, and Enjou ends up revealing that they're friends (Wakaba and Reika) and that obviously Reika was trying to protect her friend. Reika and Masasya gets shocked at the revelation (Masaya bc "they're friends?!" and Reika bc "how did you even know?!"). Masaya is then humbled and feels defeated that he never manages to help out his crush. He swears to be indebted to Reika for all her help and for saving Wakaba. Reika then remembering that Enjou said Maihama has made herself his enemy, and asks him why he said that, and Enjou gives his signature black smile and tells Reika to not worry about it and to never do something so dangerous ever again.
yeah, sadly that was the case and not because the guys were interested(romantically) in Reika dancing... Kinda wish another guy like Satomi pops up, someone who understands and likes the weird side of Reika and sees who she truly is without her oujo-sama mask and doesn't look up to her as a kamisama of love or master, etc. Hopefully, it's that unnamed #2, I don't mind getting a new character. Because as of now Mizusaki still seems a bit distant, like he doesn't really try to carry on the conversations with Reika and turns her swiftly down when she wanted to buy him a castle set. LOL Also Reika truly believes he likes Wakaba due to the manga and won't see him as a candidate. UGH, I really want a love candidate for Reika to appear because she deserves those uniform dates. Can't wait for the next chapter, I only just recently found this novel and read it in like 3? days... and I'm already dying for the next chapter. Can't imagine your pain for waiting since October... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS ON THEIR FIREWORKS DATE!!! WILL YUIKO SHOW UP AND SABOTAGE IT? (much to the relief of Reika because she doesn't want to hang out with black-bellied Enjou). LOL I can imagine it now, the relief showing on her face and Enjou giving her those black smiles of his and trying to trick her into another hang out in the future. Also, I agree that Reika's family doesn't push Reika with Enjou's is because of family standing, they want the best family for their daughter (which rich family doesn't want) and also Kaburagi's mom seems to realllyy like Reika for her son. Since both families want it, they just prioritize Kaburagi as a marriage candidate more. Also maybe K-mama already know that Enjou has a fiancee candidate since young and she thinks it's pretty much set. Also, Enjou's mom doesn't seem that pushy about wanting Reika to be her future daughter-in-law whereas Kaburagi's mom is always inviting Reika to her parties and asking her son to escort her and etc.
Want a love candidate for Reika, I remember that when Reika and her friends from scram school went to the beach and lit sparklers, some kids showed up and were known by one of Reika's friends, the boys were interested in Reika, Reika must have candidate and stop being the head of the village (it would be interesting if later one of those guys appear)
I think they were more interested in her because she was different looking? with her drill hair and oujo-sama aura but same, I REALLY WANT REIKA TO HAVE HER CUTE UNIFORM DATES and stop being the head of the village. LMAO it would be interesting to see Reika interacting with one of those "flirty" Reika-chan calling boys again by herself. LOL I'd also like for her to bump into one of them or her cram school friends during her little commoner hang outs with Enjou & Kaburagi. Kukukuku just imagining their reaction on how different Reika treats them and her cram school friends would be nice.
There are several modes of jealousy he could enter: Black-bellied : Subtle but passive aggressive. Yandere : get rid of the man then go all out and get Reika as his wife. Normal : get upset and make passing comments but dont do anything cause he never told her he liked her.
so , how long before we finaaly see some defite jealosy confession and proposal for reinka chan ? coz as much as i enjoyed reading the story so far , the hints and no progress is getting tiring ;(

It has been 4 months since the last update of the RAWS. If there is a new chapter, this will surely be back to talking about spoilers xD So far, many just want to rant. I understand because I am also frustrated. I hope the author makes the wait worth it. I’m getting worried, though. I should have taken a snapshot of what the author seems to be saying to the readers at one point. Unfortunately, the comment was deleted by the system so I cannot figure out what was going on. Now, I just hope that whatever drama happened, it will not affect the release of the chapters in the long run.
