Well, a bit of information came my way about star wars battlefront:II. EA has added a pay to play system now to the game. My brother also told me that on the forums, people have said that even if they paid, the characters are still locked (I think my brother said it was bc other people already have it). For example, a guy paid $80 to get a locked Darth Vader. Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone else has any informatiom regarding if this will affect other games by EA, or if it will ever go away, and how far is the pay to play system going (is it just characters or like online multiplayer, etc. (Idk this)).
You should finish reading the comments before posting. There are heroes in the game. After purchasing the game they are still locked and require in game currency to unlock. It can take upwards of 40+ hours of playtime to just unlock one hero. Or you can pay real money to unlock them. So grind for days/weeks to unlock the character you want to play as, or give EA money.
Most down voted comment in reddit history by EA pr guy. Hate EA and their lottery system. Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBa...ked/dppum98/?sort=top&sh=de60ae66&st=j9xytin9
Is it only me that regards 40 hours in a game as little? xD i mean i might buy a game and then like 5 days later have almost 50 hours so.... xD hopefully it wont take too long to unlock the cool stuff though :/
the downvotes did do something the vader is now 15,000 points instead of 60,000. ea said they will do ama wednesday
My brother told me about it, but never linked it to me so i couldn't check on them, but yeah, i wanted to know stuff like that, thanks
These games typically end up costing me more than double than what games used to cost when they weren't 'free to play'. Characters, expansions, exp boosts, cosmetic items blablabla.
That's because you don't have a job/responsibilities of a working adult and can do so. Normal adult players can only put in a few hours every couple days or week.
It's EA ... I mean if you looked at how they have conducted gaming business for the last 3 decades this shouldent be a surprise.
I play way more than that, BUT, i'd also like to enjoy the hours i spend. For instance i've spent 1000 hours of warframe a long time ago, and you start out the game with nothing, having to farm materials, wait for 36 hours to craft and then 72 to complete a frame , farm weapons etc. etc. I paid to speed this up and it was a lot of fun, without paying for it, you'll hit a wall very soon and it becomes a full-time job just to get scraps and having to wait for a few days just go get something done. It's absolutely broken when you can buy double mat drop rate, double mat drop amount, have them stack with your party members, have that stack with x2 event rates meaning you get 5000-10000 of a material per short map, where a normal player has to work his ass off for a measly 200 or something and have a hard time because they can't spam healing pads, mp pads, shield pads or have maxed out everything. If i have to work for something for 40 hours, it better be e-penis worthy and not something others can just throw their wallets at.
Darth Vader should be a cursed item that drops and makes you a world boss that drops loot to other players that resets randomly each week.
