Yuri Queen likes SG1 better. SGA is too much of a nerd-orgasm. Compared to SGA, SG1 has better story. Let's not even talk about the ending of SGA. Why are you quoting me?
They are Expansionist Isolationist species, and they probably were around Tollan level so they just gave out Ion Cannons for defense so when Baal came, they stomped him, and refitted their battlecruisers with energy weapons before Anubis obtained ascended tech and killed Goa'uld.
The term used by mass effect is uplifting though in terms of the Krogans so people are influenced by it.
or maybe "The Stargate on Aschen Prime, a planet known to Stargate Command as P4C-970, was found buried, like the one found on Earth and several other worlds, suggesting a successful uprising against the Goa'uld which either killed them all or drove them from the planet, or as with Earth, the Goa'uld could have simply abandoned the planet."
Wasn't the ending forced? I think SGA was supposed to have 10 seasons as well but needed to be cut short coz people have bad taste and didn't watch it.
It's not. The story goes like this. >Launched Destiny >Ran away from home because of Ori. >Arrived in Milky Way galaxy >Made Earth their capital >Galaxy-wide plague killed most of their population >Escaped to Pegasus (with Atlantis) where they flourished for another few million years. > Before they left, they seeded Earth and other planets with their genetic materials. >Found the wraiths > Wraiths evolved, fought the wraiths > Lost the war against wraith > Some ascended, those who refused ran back to Earth > Atlantis sunked to the bottom of the ocean > Arrived on Earth, found that in their absence, there was another form of Alteran-like civilization there > They joined Earth humans, taught these humans new things and assimilate into ancient human civilizations I don't know what the word was used for in economy, but we're talking about science fiction, and in science fiction, it has a very specific meaning. Yea, the ending for SGA was forced. The show was axed.
I've always questioned how they forced that people came back to earth and mixed in with the primitive humans when they were so far advanced. Nothing logical about going to a primitive world and not taking it over / advancing the people technologically as their rules. Would be like finding a primitive tribe secluded somewhere and trying to fit in with them and live by their backwards standards. No one with any intelligence would ever make that choice. It'd be like giving up electricity and internet so you can go pretend to me amish.
I think it's quite like Japanese novels of being transmigrated to another world with advanced modern knowledge of making ramen and mayonnaise. They probably had a consensus to guide humanity's advance slowly. I mean they came back like 10,000 years ago. Humanity did have some civilizations already up by then, so it's not a big issue, I think. They're basically just giving Sumerians and Pheoniians the knowledge about building cities, handling diseases and making magic here and there.
Yeah, but you've seen human history which is the back story. There's a large gap from where we've been for the past ten thousand years and creating worm hole technology. No matter how slowly you want to advance things, thousands of years to tens of thousands of years is definitely too slow.
He's talking about the alternate timeline where they wiped out all the Goa'uld in the galaxy. Presumably with the same weapon they tried to use against Earth later (later series-wise, not time-wise). If Earth really was their only target here, it would be a serious plothole. But for all we know, they could have been doing the same to other planets too, possibly trying to take over the entire galaxy.
They spent millions of years with minimal changes in language, technology, or culture. I think they were used to slow progress.
SG1 had the best cast IMO. Richard Dean Anderson made the SG1 series work. Let's not forget about Amanda Tapping. These two had great chemistry together. Great stories too. Groundhog day with a stargate? FUN! Drug induced superman mode gauntlet? Woohoo! SGA had a lot of cool tech that made me squeal with delight. Sadly their cast wasn't that great compared to SG1 the humor wasn't as funny either. SGU had some interesting moments, but I detest the cast. They annoyed me to no end. Truth be told I don't remember the Aschens. Might need to re-watch SG1.
I'm still wondering what the adresses aschen got after the black hole But most aschen plans are foiled through future interference right?
We know they did it to the Volians, so its reasonable to assume they had done it to other places too.
It's a pity, because they did give Earth some really nice day-to-day convenience tech like teleporters for public transport and if I remember correctly, solved world hunger and sickness. Compare that to the tech they got from everyone else which was almost exclusively for combat.
All planets in their confederation are a farming world They destroyed the native civilization and made it into a farming world through a vaccine that have a side effect to make people sterile, after the native pop goes down, they become the good guy by helping them transform into farming worlds
