Are there any decent novels about starting a human colony in other planet/going back in time when there was no human? like the movie passengers but actually arrived to the planet, or like the tv series mars(2016) and something like terra nova is also fine basically starting civilization in another place where there are no humans, i prefer not too much supernatural/power up things
I would also love reading a novel like this, but the closest i can recommend you are the books of "The Expanse" ther is a TV show but they were still fighting in the solar system....aka the first book lol
Just gonna get my camping equipment out and watch this thread. To genre sounds good.. I think it will be a original fiction or fanfic... I haven't read any like it on this site
it's fine as long as the story doesnt turn into a full survival against alien mode without building anything thanks ill try this one
In that case try "the martian chronicle" , a classic old novel about human going on mars. It's kinda a mix between human - alien interaction (but they are short) and the human on the new colony of mars. There are no "true" skirmish between alien and human btw. There is some time travel as well. And if you seek for "mars novel" you should find a shit-ton of good novel with new colony.
BluePencil is running a Let's play of Planetside over at Sufficient Velocity forums. Its fucking hilarious. It maybe not to your tastes as you are asking for a novel but the concept and execution of the let's play is good enough to earn an advert on the forum.
Emperor of The Cosmos ( About to be picked up again) Age of Cosmic Exploration ( Qidian international)
I found it funny how he they got in contact with one alien race after the other, that place is like the warhammer universe inbefore "He" becomes the God Emperor (we all know the alliance sucks and humanity need´s a real Ruler) ....
There's a book called We Are Legion and it's sequel called For We Are Many that has exploration of the cosmos and setting up humanity on new planets. Although it does focus more on exploration than building a new civ. It's on Kindle and they are unlimited books so you can read em for free if you pay the monthly or I think they still have that 1 month free trial.
