Why It Should Get Picked Up:
Why didn't anyone picked this project yet? Why everybody drop this project? It's a modern classic!
Everyone thinks it's already translated, but no!
Why nobody translated all others Tong Hua works?
    Description:

It would have been better if we never met, then we wouldn’t have fallen for each other
It would have been better if we were not soulmates, then we wouldn’t long for each other
    From love to anger
    And love to resentment
    Yet love also begets faithfulness
    And love develops into yearning
After we parted, after experiencing the full extent of anger, resentment, faithfulness, yearning
It all culminated in a sincere aching for you
We miss each other, we want each other but we can’t be with each other
Our relationship has changed from that of acquaintances to one that is so much more
    But more means tiring
Every memory of you destroys me a little more inside

Ruo Xi is a stubborn, feisty lady who has no qualms talking back to princes and brawling with princesses. Even Emperor Kang Xi teases her with the nickname “the thirteenth missy who tries her damnedest”. This very same girl was originally just your average white-collared worker in modern bustling Shen Zhen but due to some cosmic slip, she manages to travel centuries back in time. Along with her knowledge on how history eventually pans out, she finds herself embroiled in court intrigues. She knows she shouldn’t be swept up in the power struggle but she can’t help herself because this involves the ones she love as well as the ones who love her. Thus, she can only forge ahead cautiously, step by startling step …

I want to know if the novel is different from the drama...I think I read the beginning and it was fairly similar (can't really remember). It would be nice to read it though, the drama was pretty good (very sad towards the end though >.<)

i know they tweaked some parts of the drama, but i think it mostly stayed quite true. though i think the novel one had more details? of course. have you seen the korean drama titled scarlet heart based on it too---?!
well, season 2 of the drama totally didn't exist in novel form, so...lol. let's ignore its existence!

the korean one was more light-hearted than the chinese one, i think, and they tweaked quite a few things as well. but not so sure since i only watched a bit of the korean one.

Yeah me neither~ they tweaked the amount of brothers I think...also there wasn't the first one? Can't remember...I didn't like it how the 4th Prince in the Korean one went about killing people willy nilly though. :/

Hm I think it would be harder with the words they used. People back in the day had a different set of vocabulary. But I guess that could be it as well~ With a good drama the novel's translation would have a lot of spotlight too.

Maybe no one wants to pick it up because it's long and super tragic? As in, very sad ending.

Isn't it more because there's already a drama, not many translators feel the need to add a novel to that?

Maybe :ROFLMAO: I tear up everytime I rewatch it...so I just watch the beginning and then stop when it gets too much >.<
If the drama followed the novel closely, I guess it would be rather redundant to continue translating it. I do want to read it though \o/

Tons of chinese dramas don't folow they novels. I know Princess Wei Young, Agent Princess and General and I have a very diferent plots from the books in which they were inspired.
