Bringing The Nation's Husband Home - I cried tears of blood because of this novel. My brain cells also did. I don't even know how I managed to brave a hundred chapters of this. I salute all the masochists who had persisted and read until the end. All JP novels with chapter length title that also serves as the summaries
More than anything I hated it because he has so many good heroines and he still stuck for that underdeveloped character that he used to love and I forgot her name because screw her
Also, let's not forget the fact that he was friggin stalking her. No manner of explanation can excuse that. He was a creep. I don't care if he reincarnated. You do not follow a junior high girl around and give her favors. How he even tried planning out his encounters with her freaked me out.
I see. My mistake, I will attempt to clarify in the original post. It's supposed to be a worsening list, from "I didn't like it" to "burn the story to the ground and order the author/translator to never write again". What you're asking for in a fifth category is exactly what the fourth category is supposed to be. Hell, my description outright says "even masochists wouldn't" do something as horrible to themselves as attempting to translate this. I even named it "Why God Why!", I'm not sure why you're asking for a category beyond that. Oh, and, King, I purposefully made Category 4 in order to ensure that there was a place for Invisible Dragon and stories like it. So, no, it does not deserve a Category 5, because there isn't a good reason for a 5th Category to exist. From what I know of Smartphone, it's a cliche-ridden, boring mess. I can't say that it fits the level 4 category, it's level 3 at worst and 2 at best.
Nope, that's not it. I think I should have made it clearer. It's like TL intentionally is a sadist (for the readers reading it), while wanting masochism for themselves (by translating it).
I have now updated the original post. If you still feel that it's worse that the top limits of Category 4... I'm actually worried. ...oh, and, in my version of the list in the Original Post, I've adjusted some of the stories to what I feel are more appropriate categories. Mostly due to comments not matching my view of what the categories are supposed to be like, and some people *cough*Darkaeluz*cough* not really giving it any consideration and putting every story they didn't like under the worst category. Or putting it into category 3 only for being a cliche story instead of properly putting them into category 2.
@LysUltima Can we get a comment about Invijible Panda getting labeled as a case 4 uncontested? Are you proud, disappointed or just indifferent? Did you expect it or were you shocked? Does it change anything for you?
Invijible Panda has unreadable raws. The translation is many times better than the source. Does that explain it? Oh, by the way, I'm not a masochist.
I put Invijible Panda as a starting point on horrific stories due to how the forum treats it, it seems like it was written as a semi-joking attempt to take an already famously horrible story and make it worse. Basically, if there's a story at or beyond the level of "took something bad and purposefully made it worse", it belongs in the fourth category. Apologies if you find that offensive, but I feel like the way the people here treat it and Invisible Dragon, it's warranted.
Wow, someone actually semi-seriously analyzed Invijible Panda! It was actually written in Yosemite when I got really bored in the evenings with no internet (it's very expensive there) in terrible Japanese, and back then, there was a loophole (it's closed now) where the author could translate his or her own novel and put it on NU. So that's what happened.
Whaaaa??? Invisible Dragon is fukken epic. By chapter 3, I was literally crying. By chapter 7, I was sweating bullets from laughter exertion By chapter 9, I had the webnovel equivalent of a runner's high Between chapters 12 and 13, I got a freaking asthma attack Then I had to take a break because I was kinda concerned I might have my first-ever fullblown seizure next.
