Recommendations Story with worthy antagonist/adversary?

    Is there stories (that has been updated in two month) that have antagonist that can give the possibility of bad end? The vibe from a lot of the stories I've read is that the MC can overcome whatever is thrown to them (also, the feeling from those cheat or xianxia stories is more like 'there's no way MC can get bad ending').

    I am getting tired of 'MC always win' or 'even if MC lose, it does not matter'.

    Naturally, I'm not sure about the ending/future, but Kuro no Maou has no problems with killing characters left right and centre. The MC is getting more powerful slowly and I think he will get strong sooner or later but the other 'side' is also very strong, and currently they are are quite untouchable.

    Well, if it is manga then I think Akame Ga Kill will suit your tastes. (Plot-armor-less)

    And if it is novels, then I recommend Terror Infinity. (Gantz-like story)

    Sorry that both of them are kinda oriented to terror and gore, there must be many others were the angonist cng bring the possibility of a bad end.

    P.S: Even if does not kill the protagonist it counts if it kills his companions and friends.

    @AicilaXI I think I've dropped kurono maou a while ago. thanks for the recommendation though.

    There are quite a lot, but most of the are not xian xia/wuxia. A lot of story adapted from The Three Kingdom has worthy opponent with possibility of protagonist dying.
    Non xian xia/ wuxia title:
    Gong Hua
    The Lazy King: it is hard to imagine Leige being defeated, but his opponent is indeed worthy.
    Apartment for Rent: Psycho killer vs wannabe villain.

    fighting boss leige is like slashing the sea. it feels like you're hitting something for a second, but nothing changes, the sea remains unchanged even if you hit for eternity. the good news is that you'll increase skill rank,muscle and arm strength. why do you think the silver blue cry when leige last saw her. that was tears of joy for reaching SSS rank on sword. haha
