    my first thread <3 *kyan*

what u think about nowdays education? especially at students that bring books, materials, or gadgets
some people said its better if the school using e-books and to other said its not healthy cause that will make children depended on electronic things

personally, I prefer old times (when I bring a huge pack books on my back)
that way I can polish my 'art' in school when the teacher there teaching maths
but lately I started to realize some children that live far away from school in wilderness is not that simple than what it means
I hate to admit their determination is amazingly admirable compared modern school in cities
and I just happen to watch children have to spend hours crossing mountains, forest, and high current river (no exaggerations, really)
and now I change my mind, perhaps e-book is better for those children?

well for students who have really thick books and students who forget books but not their phones i think ebooks are better though i don't know if the authors will still get paid the same royalties if their books are distributed this way.

E book are convenient because their lightweight and can be brought anywhere, accessed anywhere..

However I still prefer text book..

I still remember I know which page the thing I'm searching about and even though e book has search function I believe I could still beat it..

Books are able to be scribbled, make notes, and if you have no books, it was one of the way to get close to a girl you like..

Sorry teacher I forgot to bring my book, can I share with her?

    no, umm...
its not like I put emphasis on the book's weight, its more to which one u prefer (in school) to use
but yes, in business pov, e-book is better than paper books (production and scope area wise)

THIS!! classical but SUPER EFFECTIVE! way to flirt and it's almost none to impossible possibility in reality (no way I will do it, I will die of embarassing situation)
but it happen in drama and entertainment things :)
    o_O 'since kindergarten'
so u keep doing that till now or till your last education?

I've tested using e-book all the time for 1 semester, carrying my notebook everywhere. My eyes becomes more tired than ever that time. E-book is good, but the eyestrain had to be compensated.

I agree. + I find that concentrating with e-book is harder than the actual textbook. You also could smack people with it bring them anywhere. I guess i just like the feel of real copy book in my hand.

But that's only for school (primary till high). Using real book in college would equal to suicide for my backpack. Our college don't provide locker...

Study? Mostly from notes, self research, and ppt slides. We do have our on library, but most student rarely visit it.

and what do you study? Here... Notes are hard to take, the teacher speaks fast.. Or, maybe, I don't know how to take them. Self research - something like searching materials/information on a specific topic? I don't like ppt - usually that information is the small version, witouth enough examples and.. I hope you visit it, there are, or should be, the books that you need.

I prefer the second variant - hard books, for the same reasons showed. It's easier to read from more than two books at the same time but.. The disavantage is the fact that you can't take every bit of information with you because of lack of time. There's the advantage of better memorising because you work
    With the material.

In my country, at some time, there was the trend to publish e-bioks, but, when the publishers saw that those books were spread and they received less money, less profit... They took the old way. What's annoying is the fact that, at every change or major change in legislation there's another book.. Not that that's in itself a problem but, books aren't cheap and.. There are new and newer editions on the same subject and small modification. In old times there was something like an addenda or a separate page with mistakes that happened in the old book in the new edition, now you have to compare the books page by page to find the mistake. And it's so hard to find examples to understand the stuff... n n

    Economic, finance concentration.
Typing without looking at keyboard is a must have skill. Agree that ppt is often too compact. Lately the lecturer prefer to use published journal, and our time in class is mostly focused on how to process data.

I prefer a physical one. I have the same issue as @Shio where I can't concentrate when I read e-books.

    uh uh...
    the pool is getting hot
its hard to decide on the final result

mmmm mostly ppl still prefer ebooks huh
on other point of view, I think ebooks will be perfect if used on office or governor bureau (yea its impossible to make it 100%, but a lil cut here and there will make the office tidy, I hate going to storage room to check the paper from decades ago -_-)
mostly my reason is eco-friendly, compared to school, office using a LOT of blank paper than school

I also think it's more of a generation thing. E-books came out relatively recently compared to actual books. the older generation (the millennials and beyond) will probably prefer books over e-books (generally), while the younger, current generation will prefer e-books
