I'm looking for novels where the MC is either the parent or the child and the novel focuses on the family aspect of it, does anyone have any recommendations or anything similar to the genre above?

Well a lot of novels tend to have a way to get rid of parents because most parents don't like their kids going out and kicking ass at like 1 in the morning. Basically parents can just get in the way in some books and dead parents are great sob background
